A bit like the promotional videos of a certain game set in the Far West, Alan Wake is given a special treatment today with this 4 minute video presenting us with the storyline and the different gameplay aspects of the game. In spite of the poor encoding quality on Microsoft's part, it should prove everyone that Remedy's title is indeed a technical marvel and clearly a very atmospheric game with incredible lighting effects. Microsoft also announced that the game will ship a bit sooner than originally expected as it will hit the shelves on May 11 in North America and May 14 in Europe. Make sure you're not out of batteries when it comes.

definately the best looking 360 game imo. nothing comes close, not gears, not mass effect, not conviction, nothing. i'm still not quite sold on the gameplay tho. hopefully they'll be a demo, otherwise i'm gonna have to wait for a rental first.

the guy narrating this video is annoying as hell BTW. almost stopped me watching it.

I wish this was on PC and PS3 as well, atleast on PC...as originally planned.
But I think it will come over to PC eventually.

Anyways, game look fantastic.

the facial animations let the game down in general. it's not quite flapping jaw syndrome...but it's not far off. otherwise the game looks killer.

Wow...I will wait for the PC version, because i still have hope. But, if they won't make an announcement within a half year after the release i might just have to buy a 360...

When did they actually say that it will NEVER come to PC? I thought they only said that it's up to Microsoft if there will be a PC-version.

Barry's face is the only one that looks off. All of the others, as seen in the GIFs, look perfectly fine. Heavy Rain has some shitty looking faces too (in addition to some great ones), but I don't recall you shitting all over those.

Something must be wrong with you if you don't think this looks incredible.

Well the fact they said that there studio is too small to work on a pc version, and that they are already working on DLC for xmas, if it dose come to the pc it wont be for a very long time.

who's nit-picking, when there is a less then steller element of an otherwise amazing looking game, it a lot more noticable. that pic of the chicks face is awesome...but if she was talking, that would be a differnt story. if you dont see it, then props for you, you'll enjoy it all the more, but this is just as distracting as heavy rains dead, lifeless eyes imo. another game that is othewise amazing looking.

either way the visuals are the least of my worries. i want a demo to see if it is actually fun to play first.

well when game is cut down into episodes ofc it will look good, but he still looks crap to me, and cgi always looks good

They still have all the PC code left. I don't think it will be such a big task, that they couldn't handle it. It's also easier to port between 360 and PC because they are similar in many ways.

They are qorking on DLC chapters right now and will continue working on that,and if the game is a succes(I really hope so) they will make a sequel right away,they said there is just no time for it.

But I agree if Microsoft decides all of the sudden they want a PC version they can throw some more money and it will be made,when well you can wait for years for that to happen though.

i'm sure it will be, but i havnt got that "wow, i have GOT to play this" feeling from it like it did with say, bioshock or gears of war initially. i think it's the similarities to alone in the dark that's keeping me a little aprehensive. which is why i think i need a demo. if there is no demo it'll have to be a rent if only to make sure i enjoy it.
