Assassin's Creed interview

Assassin's Creed interview

After our interview with Jade Raymond, producer on Assassin's Creed, we now had the chance to meet the brain behind the game, Patrice Désilets. It's a good way to learn how the game was created (with an interesting insight about the origins of the concept), but also some details about how long the game will be and the rather strange highlighting of the characters. You'll also learn a bit about the interesting concepts he would love to work on in the future.

whoa, jade raymond is having a pretty rough day it looks like. :P

That was a really interesting interview. I would love to see a Three Musketeers(sp?) game with the refined combat system and free running aspects of AC. Im not sure about the Jesus idea though.

Nah she looks better that ever.
Just needs a shave ;)

I still don't really "like" this game that much. E3 did spark a little interest but not much. Hopefully they'll show something that will be mind blowing for me.

Myro, i dont understand how you can not be in love with this game. What dont you like about it. If its the bugginess, keep in mind they still have till november to fix all that.

LOL! Blim did he really say he wanted to make Jesus game or did you subtitle that in just to make me laugh :D. I want to see that. Ninja Gaiden and God of War be damned! Ninja Jesus of War! Devil May Cry confirmed :P.

He really did say that of course. Not a game ABOUT Jesus though, or even worse with Jesus as a playable character (OMGWTF), but simply at the same time period, in the same places.

Ahh yea, I read it wrong. I still think he should do a Jesus FPS and call it Halo....oh wait.

At the same time, for a game that is set to be released in 3+ months, I would imagine that the kind of basic bugs where dead characters lie in mid-air as opposed to falling to the ground should've been found and fixed. Also, since they were showing a very specific section of the game at E3, I would've thought they'd have spent some time playing through that section to make sure they don't run into, frankly, such an embarrassing bug.

The game is very nice and I'm sure I'll pick it up when it's done, but rather than polishing the game up, they might still be doing some spot bug-fixing..

^ such is the curse of showing off unfinished games. As gamers we should expect this kind of stuff, just how many times do developers have to say "this is a work in progress". Its an unfortunate reality, but sometimes, you just cant get all the bugs out. Deal.

not stressed about the bugs it should be halo status when released. Legendary

so u play with a Crusader and kill all Muslims and Arabs? hmm thats messed up because the character is Arab!!! They said he's part of a secret society, but then why does he wear the outfit of a Crusader? They shouldnt do that, its supposed to be like wat really happend in those times, and Crusaders were not good people.

CockKnocker, what the hell are you talking about? The character is an assassin who takes out the ones who are continuing the war, from both sides. And he's not dressed as a crusader.

dangerous territory are we in, eh

take it like this, Jerusalem was at the time mix of different cultures and each on his own defined what was good and bad

uh yeah he is dressed as a crusader. The white robe with the hood, and the red cross on the front. All its missing is the chainmail armor. But if he kills ppl on both sides thats cool, i just dont like the choice of clothing. ah well.

Ubisoft has already gone over the design of his character, its meant to resemble a bird in flight when you see his silhouette, and uh, take a look at his suit again, there is no red cross on the front. Its a red sash belt thing.

well I don't think he's suppose to be a crusader, it's just a white outfit with a red sash...not a red cross. And I think the developers have done their homework with the historians who worked on the film kingdom of heaven. I think you can agree that those guys know more about the crusades than anyone else.

Damn i love french, just wish there was french woman there :P

Anyways about the game, it is gonna kick major ass!

Hopefully that says how I feel.

I did and have Kingdom of Heaven on Deluxe Edition on DVD, and when the first time they show the place were all the religions was there at the same times, it was a very good view, very cool.

I am glad that the game will go around to 30-35 hours if you play it in detial, meaning do all the time, go for free chases for fun, which I will do a lot, and kill the soldiers and what not, that is gonna be awesome.

Anyways, November is gonna be the best month for me no doubt about it.
Mass Effect and Assassins Creed, whats not to like :D

The Assassins are muslim and try to protect Jerusalem and the Kingdom of Heaven from the christian crusaders. The white costume is their traditionnal uniform.

About the game

What's up?
  • Tiz
Tiz If Joe Staten is working on H6, then they have a lot less to worry about as he can steer Halo's cinematic direction very well. (19 minutes ago)
  • Tiz
Tiz @amerakindesi: I think the planets are aligning quite nicely for Halo 6. They don't have to worry so much about multiplayer save for map design. Now they can focus efforts on the campaign. (23 minutes ago)
  • aphex187
aphex187 Best Xmas game evah! :D [url] (1 Hour ago)
  • amerakindesi
amerakindesi @Tiz: halo definitely relies more on individual skill, because every one is essentially the same character. halo is a still a great idea of a game. i hope they improve on "halo" for 6 (1 Hour ago)
  • docLEXfisti
docLEXfisti Snatcher was awesome, played it on the European Mega CD (3 Hours ago)
  • droezelke
droezelke @Moonwalker: I agree. Other than the Metal Gear series, he didn't really present something as good. And I thought MGS5 was ultra boring (4 Hours ago)
  • nostradamus
nostradamus never played snatcher, but policenauts has a awesome scenario. (4 Hours ago)
