I simply can't wait. Can Rocksteady meet the sky-high expectations? I really hope so.

And people were bi*@#ing on Valve for releasing L4D2 soon after the first game. Come on...a sequel already? Didnt get enough money last time ? They should at least pretend to be fair with gamers. Cant wait nonetheless lol

There is no release date yet. It could arrive in late 2011 for all we know.

Plus as you can see in the trailer...Arkham has moved. All of the chaos is now happening in the city ..who knows, maybe a open-world Batman game.

The announcement came rather soon sure , but as we all know during a long development cycle like Arkham Asylum had, lots and lots of ideas for the sequel we're thrown around in the office im sure. I bet they came up with the whole " Move Arkham" idea a long long time ago. I mean, why would designer turn off his/hers brain ? And i bet there are also lots of elements and gameplay ideas that we're cut from the first one that are making their way in to the second one.

So Arkham is now part of mainland Gotham. I bet they won't go FULL OPEN WORLD on our assess cos' if that would be the case, i doubt they would have had the need to move Arkham. I suspect players will be able to move around in the areas surrounding Arkham..maybe win back cityblocks from Jokers hencmen/other villains one by one before reaching Arkham? Can't wait to hear more info..

This game exceeded my already high expectations - I had literally followed the game ever since the title was rumoured - and there is no doubt that it was my GOTY for 2009. Needless to say that I couldn't be more excited about a sequel.

But please, please don't make it an open-world game. Don't get me wrong, Rocksteady is making absolutely the correct decision in changing the game's location; it would have been very difficult to produce the same level of excitement if the game was situated in exactly the same place as its predecessor. Just stick to what made the first game so outstanding, add to it in any way you think is appropriate, and apply the same amount of careful polish as you did with the first game.

I trust Rocksteady. After Batman: AA, they've earnt it.

As much as the batman mythos would work well for an open world game, I agree that THIS batman game is much better suited for the more linear format. The first game is in my top five of 2009 for sure, only bested by Forza, uncharted, and modern warfare 2 (mp junkie).

As long as they take their time, no reason why this shouldn't be another GOTY contender.

i dunno how they are going to top the first game..i mean, that game had everything and it was just amazing..

but if anything uncharted 2 has proved, sequels can work and blow people out of the water!

I don't even really need it to top the first game. If it was on par, I'd still be absolutely ecstatic.

One thing I can tell you, I'm not looking forward to hearing all the idiots complain that there isn't some huge visual leap...as if it's somehow owed to them.

I just beat the first one three days ago, cool game but the boss fights were pathetic! It was also rather short (took me about 8 or 9 hours), it was a solid 8.5/10 game but I hope they fix the boss fights and add more gameplay elements.

I didn't really have an issue with the boss fights...other than the repitition of the Bane/Bane-juiced henchmen/Joker fights... which I still found fun to play. A lot of people really disliked the Killer Croc part, but despite how easy it was, I still found it satsifyingly tense...plus the water looked great. The Ivy fight wasn't bad to me. It wasn't stand-out good...but I had no problem with it.

I have to completely disagree with you there, and agree with Ronsauce. There were only a couple of boss fights I was disappointed with: the Poison Ivy one because it was so 'by the book', and the final boss - although that was more to do with the plot than anything else. Everything else was fantastic.

I'm especially surprised at how much criticism the Killer Croc boss fight received; I thought it was fantastic, and one of the best boss battles in the entire game. I played it in the evening with the lights dimmed fully down and the tension was almost unbearable, as you simply didn't know which direction he was coming from or how it was going to play out. Such a thrill.

More gameplay elements? Sure, that'll naturally happen, but you make it sound as if the first game lacked such a thing. The sheer diverse number of gameplay elements was arguably Batman: AA's strongest feature.

I tried to play the first one after all the praise everyone has been giving it, but I couldn't get used to the camera always being panned to the right. It's like trying to play tennis with your left when you're righthanded, so annoying. I have the same with racers, I just can't drive in a car with the steeringwheel on the right, just can't stand it.

I hope they give you an option to change the camera like in Gears in the sequel. I don't understand why it isn't there in the first place?!
