BF3 Armored Kill in PC videos

BF3 Armored Kill in PC videos

The third DLC of Battlefield 3 is now avaiblable for Premium members, Armored Kill adds very large maps where using vehicles is essential. It also features a new game mode Tank Superiority inspired by the Conquest mode in which a single point is to be captured. We therefore offer videos on each maps, in 1080p and 60 FPS.

Hardware used to capture these videos:
- Intel i7 2700K @ 4.8 GHz

- 2x NVidia GTX 680 SLI
Capture software: Mirillis Action!

Alborz Mountains
Armored Shield

Why don't I play this more. I love BF, I bought it on release but I must have played it for a week. Genuinely think there is something wrong with me haha.

Well actually it is because I don't have people to play with. Solo is dull when everybody goes off randomly.

You can't foresee when you'll find team spirit in a randoms squad. Sometimes you get along well and the next thing you know is you've already added them in battlelog and playing together. :D

These maps are really poor for lone wolf players, which unfortunately accounts for a lot of the player pool. I am not really in love with any of these maps to be honest.. but they're growing on me. What I do love about AK: Tank destroyers. Oh, and the graphics are pretty damn rad. I mean, really. The best looking game out there got better looking.

Still haven't had chance to play really, even worse now is that a friend of mine game me Planetside 2 last night and i really enjoyed it. So i have DayZ, CS:GO, PS2 and BF3 to juggle!

Exactly. These maps are really made for vehicle combat. As I love to play infantry, these maps are not really enjoyable for me. It's nearly impossible to play as a squad. The assault class is pretty much useless. The original big maps that came with the game were better balanced as you could play every role and still make a difference. It's good that they support the people that love vehicle combat, but they shouldn't forget infantry.

We use a WMV encoder such as WMNicEnc or Microsoft Expression Encoder, personnaly I use a command line version to encode several videos one after the other.

For the settings, mostly VBR encoding and a quality setting near 88%, thus the bitrate depends on what happens in the video, but sometimes it can be quite huge, like in the "Alborz Mountains" and "Armored Shield" videos where it's above 80 Mbps.
That's why it weighs 1.2 GB for only 4 minutes, but the image quality is there :)

Strange that I can't even play these vids decently (laggy/choppy).. I have an i5 @ 4GHZ, 8gb ram DDR3 1600Mhz & 6950 2GB ram yet it doesn't play fluently. :(

What do you use to play it ?

Try Windows Media Player, it usually plays WMV's better than others as it's a native format to it.
