Blazing Angels now on Xbox 360 !

Ubisoft just sent me these first images of the Xbox 360 version of Blazing Angels that was announced a few hours ago. It's obviously an upgraded port of the Xbox version, but it certainly does look nice !

looks pretty good for a port

When will all these ports stop. This is supposed to be a next gen machine, why spend just as much on a game that is made to run on a PS2?

Well, it's Ubi Soft after all. We should be glad EA gave us Fifa 06 exclusively, even though it was more limited than the Xbox-version.
They will probably just port at the beginning, the bigger publishers. King Kong, Splinter Cell, Ghost Recon...

Yeah they just wanna squeeze as much money out of each game as they can. EA did well re'inventing the sport series, but guess we'll have to wait a few months for ubisoft to bring out the big guns.

You got to remember that many of these games have been in development for a while...I don't like them either, but it is what it is...

i'm afraid that it will take some years until PS2/XBOX1 are finally "dead" and nextgen-consoles have a large enough userbase... Ò_Ó

let me guess 59.99.

I don't know why you guys are complaining. It's not like you're being forced to buy this.
I know i wont be buying any ports King kong/ Gun/ Tony hawks (it may as well be a port). If you know your not going to buy it why complain about the price? Just laugh at them for rediculously pricing a current gen game for a next gen system.

Looks stunning, but then the XBox version does aswell. I'll wait to see what differences there are before complaining too much though!

Some people don't have a PS2 or XBox though, so this would be the only version available to them.

A lot of jaggies there.

I'm sure 95% of those going to buy a PS3/Xbox360 have at least a PS2 or Xbox. And NFS:MW on 360 did pretty well.

Omg that could look awesome, with 4xAA, antistropic filtering, some more details on the buildings and better textures. If the devs are gona improve it, man than thats gona be a great looking game.

you must be important if ubisoft knows you.

Lets see... there are less than 1M Xbox 360s in the wild and there are over 140M PS2/Xbox/GCN in the market. These companies have to make money to continue making games.

The best way to do that is to port their current gen games. This is not taking away from next gen game making--they are just taking a current product, spending a couple extra months adding some features, and then shipping the same product they already spent 20-24months already making.

If anything it is GOOD they are porting games. 1.) More selection meaning the 360 platform appeals to more gamers 2.) The best of current gen on the 360 with upgraded graphics 3.) The companies make more money and 4.) many games will end up in the bargin barrel quicker.

The downside is that the 360 gets an "upgraded last gen" level hardware stigma but that is the cost of being an entire year ahead of the next gen market (and having a 4 year Xbox lifespan) and the result of not having tighter quality control. Of course if you are too picky you turn developers off. More support, both in good and bad games, is better than too few games.

Ultimately it is how the games play. With very few "Next Gen" play mechanics available at all, the best we can hope for is that the AAA current gen games (or even just the good games) get ported while we wait for the REAL next gen games.

Personally I would prefer a ported current gen game over a really lame attempt at a next gen game with no replay or features. Of course to sell me on the console I want to see a library of real next gen games (the very reason I don't have a 360), but once I have one I would rather have a really robust game with updated graphics that is all shine and no substance.

Its not like they are calling a current gen project with upgraded graphics a "Totally new next gen game from the ground up" like some other company. At least they are saying, "This is an upgrade" instead of BSing like another company...

i thought these had to be 360 graphics...i saw these screens before, but they were saying it was for the xbox version and i was like holy mother of all that is holy that looks good......now i know that its a very nice looking 360 game

This'll be similar to NFSMW methinks. Saying that, it'll look nice, but not nearly as good as something built from the ground up. High-res, pixel shaded, HDR and all those extras really do make an old game look good.

These are all grabbed from the Brothers In Arms: Earned In Blood extra feature. If you want to watch the trailer, just play the game.

actually, splintercell4 is being developed for the 360 separatly from the current gen versions. read the new game informer. there are some scans online too.

Sephia for the win? It does kinda looks like an old photo, but I don't know...looks kinda dull.

well for me, I'd rather play games on my 360, with slightly better gfx and all the cool online features/streaming music that comes with the 360, this has made my will buy list...I am sure there will still be xbox/PS2/gamecube games worth getting, but if like me you just spent hard cash on your 360, well, then you want to play games on it.
if its anything like crimson skies then it will be a winner, and I's rather play it in hi-def with some nice effects, wouldnt you?
Commented on 2005-12-13 12:15:09
Well I'm pretty impressed with those screen shots, despite any shortcomings its certainly the best looking version of its genre on any format?
Commented on 2005-12-13 14:37:08
scarface made a good point, if u all carrie on supporting these xbox 1.5 games for 360, the longer developers will be lazy and carry thinking its ok to release so long as u suckers buy them.. So carry on trying to defend / support these type of games :;

Is this sim or arcade? I've been dying for another game like Crimson Skies for a while.

The trailer makes it look pretty sim (with larger than normal explosions). Not very Crimson Skies-ish though. Sorry. :(
