I always liked COD grahpics. Dont know, why people were bitching about it all time, because it always was full of nice details and was running damn fast.

i think it's the fact it's a multi billion dollar franchise running on an engine with roots in quake 3 arena. lighting is flat, textures are muddy, effects are crap. for a company that makes so much per anual sequel, they should really be doing more.

I think the CoD series really shows just how much gamers are turning into graphics whores. The franchise is being spread through all platforms and it always runs smooth 60 fps no matter the amount of action. It's far from innovative nor is it gorgeous but it has been very consistent about delivering the core fluid experience that made us all fall in love with the first modern warfare.

I've grown tired of this game as well but those who blindly attack this franchise at every turn seem far worse to me than the ppl buying it.

Money and poor taste rule the world. This leaves less room for quality products every day, and this is more then reason enough to justify the hate. Maybe not the game itself so much, but what it represents.

Games don't survive on flashy visuals alone, if they did Killzone would be out selling it on ps3, or Beyond will be the biggest selling game of the year on the platform. The gameplay in COD has always been solid and that's what ultimately attracts..besides COD has rarely been left too far behind with each iteration when it comes to graphics when stood next to other fps games on the shelves at the time..regardless of it being a heavily modded quake engine.

It's a decent multiplayer shooter..and the main complaints against it always seem to come from those that haven't played it since MW2 it seems.. which is a daft as they've made some pretty decent gameplay changes since then. And cods all about options anyways..you can always change the game to suit your preferences if you wish (such as play games without the care packages ect).

AI bots aren't anything new but they were lacking in the intelligence side in BO2, so hopefully that will show an obvious improvement.

Also, COD always offers value for money with each annual release..certainly more value than you'd see in yearly sports games. So I never feel like i'm one of he brain dead masses that's getting yearly ripped off by a game that offers nothing over its last iteration like i'm apparently supposed to. So don't really get the hate towards COD over the last few years other than you know, its the thing to do with anything popular.

Ofcourse the graphics whore in me would like them to announce the next one as having a new engine that pushes next gen.. but ultimately it wont be the worse thing in the world if that quake engine still gets tweaked and the gameplay remains solid.

why does a game making billions of dollars have to be one or the other. it really should be both at this point. flashy visuals AND "solid" gamplay....there really is no excuse at this point for it to be anything else.

While I am disappointed they didn't build a new engine for next gen I can see why they stuck to the same engine throughout current gen. I'm guessing/hoping the next cod will have a new engine.

COD is not for me.

Problem with Killzone2 was not the graphics, or style. It was the laggy controls for alot of people. If it had been 60fps. It could have really taken off.

Still a decent game though in many ways.

I'm playing the BF4 beta atm and tbh it looks like BF3.

Buildings don't even have reflections, lol and that's on PC.

Havent you heard, input lag controls means weighty feel lol (stupid thing to say).
And no, even if KZ2 had 60fps the lag of the control would still be present.

The only thing that saved killzone 2 was the killer graphics. It had shit maps, shit balance, shit campaign, shit voice overs, and really shit controls due to the worst input lag in The history of a game that high profile. Goes to show how CoD can look so dated yet outsell killzone's pretty ass by a ton.
That being said I thought killzone 3 was at least a decent improvement as I actually enjoyed that game a bit.
If shadow fall really fixes the control issues and balance issues I can see it taking ppl by surprise.

Which ironically, sold less, reviewed worse, and the ass fell out of the community so fast you couldn't even get full games 4 months after release. K2 was not only a better game, it was preferred by more people. It's why it's still played now and it's why so many people hated how much K3 was trying to be...yep, you guessed it....COD.

I found killzone to be more in line with battlefield controls than cod (as you have said yourself lol) but i never had issues finding full servers in killzone 3 so that is bullshit.
But if some people like shitty input lag who am I to judge. Some people like to eat out assholes, different strokes I guess...
