Why do those pics make the game look like a washed out textures fest???

Those character models look really crappy in stills. I mean..OUCH! Talk about low poly and muddy textures.

It's the same engine as F.E.A.R., so it's gonna have some PC leftovers in its graphics. It'll still look awesome in motion, and the soiling of pants will be fact.

I hope this game scares the crap out of me. Not only the shock scare, but also the psychological scare.

Really and truely what is the deal with the character models? This still has to be in early development!

This pictures do not do the game justice. Search the net for more gameplay videos and you'll see. I think the lighting and effects look amazing.

I said that it looked crappy "in stills"....I have been following this game very closely and it's one of my top 4 launch games. I was simply surprised after all of the great videos I've seen that the characters are that muddy and have such a low poly count. That's all. Carry on.

^^^ yup, the 18min video can attest to that. I think this is the first truly scary game. I know i'll get chills when i see an enemy's sillouet run past my screen into the darkness, I heard his footsteps, and hear his breathing, so i know he's near. i have only my flashlight and a lead pipe to search into the darkness.

About the game

What's up?
  • Melmoth
Melmoth @GriftGFX: yea, viewport performance in maya has improved the last year or so on geforce cards, it used to be hamstrung. (56 minutes ago)
  • Moonwalker
Moonwalker FFXV has actually gone gold, wow. New footage too and the difference from the two demos is crazy: [url] (56 minutes ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX But it's a pretty cool device. And the dial is really cool. If I could use that on my Cintiq I'd buy one in a heartbeat. (1 Hour ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX I wouldn't expect workstation performance out of any all-in-one. And I hate the idea of piggybacking computation to monitors. (1 Hour ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX Penny Arcade has some good impressions of Surface Studio up: [url] (1 Hour ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX That.. totally depends on the software. Maya's viewport performance is pretty good on GeForce chips. (1 Hour ago)
  • Melmoth
Melmoth you're not gonna get good viewport performance in most 3D apps with a geforce chip (2 Hours ago)
