Trailer PC

While Kingdom Come has already reached its goal, another indie project that is worth a look is Aderyn's Cradle from Mojo Game Studios. The CryEngine-powered PC project is on Kickstarter and is described as an open-world fantasy adventure game with an environmental experience and a new type of strategic first-person melee-combat. The story deals with humanity's relationship to religion and nature. The player controls an exiled traveler caught in the middle of this struggle with 5 classes available, 5 distinct environments and some upgradable stuff. Get a first glimpse with the trailer and screens and more details on the Kickstarter page.

Not sure if this is the current CryEngine Build or Older Versions of it but the Cry Engine in open word/real-time rendered environments the CryEngine like the Unreal Engine 3 can start to show its weaknesses and age, looks nice but unless your're doing so crazy Tech. DEMO or a big Set Piece Game it doesn't scream next level! At this point. That's just my thoughts as far as Engine Assets at this time in 2014. But the game story wise and artistic theme have me extremely interested. Its almost like the world of TRINE in First Person Perspective mode...Love it and its nice to see more brand new IP's

Looks very promising, almost like a first person version of Trine without the platforming and charm.

I need to see some proper gameplay and a good story sequence before i'm totally sold.

One of the more promising kickstarter projects. I have yet to discover what makes their animation system soooo special though. Other than that it looks cool.

Carmack foretold that none would be wowed by the next generation. Seems he was right... Yet the only games that made me go Wow! gfx-wise until now were Killzone and that other CryEngine game nobody seems to like except the XBone owners...

me too, only game that wow this new generation until now are Ryse and that fps game that Ps4 owners deslike its mediocre campaing...

makes no sense the balant trolling for the topic at hand. Cryengine will rule the best and most used top-tier engine this generation, if it's the Best there could be matters not, in the abscence of no real competition of quality at hand. Unreal Engine 4 will survive, but it's not "best choice. only choice" like it was for any dev last generation... how many kickstarter games are there on UE4 actually, vs. Unity and CryE3?

That's not that surprising since the engine itself is still wip and the proper showcase games are also missing...

The same should be said for "next gen".

Historically, if you look at generational shifts in console gaming they've always been "underwhelming", with the exception of the change from 2D to 3D (PC isn't factored, because the shifts are SO GRADUAL, nobody really notices).

I suspect all of this hoopla over "rawr, itz not teh next gen! rawr I been robbed!" will go away once people (developers) actually get comfortable with the hardware and actually have time to work on it without; a moving target, launch dates to hit and having to support the previous generation.
