Crazy Mini Golf announced

Data Design Interactive unveils the development of videogame Crazy Mini Golf as an exclusive Nintendo Wii title. Two game styles are included, the first being closer to an arcade approach, while the other is more of a simulation. There are four courses with a total of 74 holes. The Wiimote is used so you can play like Tiger Woods in your living room. Maybe.

It doesn't look bad, but not good either. Has a very "clean" look, which is good. Interesting game.

The thing with these sports games is they need an accurate physics model to be satisfying at the end of the day; if this has it, then it's golden.

Of course being a minigolf game, or golf game in general, it also needs some awsome course design.
Some whacked out environments would help, but it looks like they are staying pretty grounded in that respect, from these screenshots.

Actually this looks very good. The lighting and shadowing are much better than most games on the Wii, and it's got an interesting style to it, albeit using fake Mii's instead of the regular ones...

About the game

What's up?
  • Melmoth
Melmoth i'd like to see more ambitious VR support (for all platforms), but i can understand why no one (especially 3rd party) aren't gonna take that risk. (16 minutes ago)
  • Melmoth
Melmoth if i'm not mistaken gran turismo and ace combat will only have limited support for VR, as in a separate mode and not full support. Sony also did shut down guerrila cambridge, who worked on PSVR. (18 minutes ago)
  • KORNdog
KORNdog i would love a 5-6 hour platformer like the playroom VR game. someone needs to make it. (23 minutes ago)
  • KORNdog
KORNdog what sony need to focus on is good, cheap, shorter experiences. it suits the platform best and doesn't wear itself thin. plus sony have a chance to actually make money on the games. (25 minutes ago)
  • KORNdog
KORNdog it's in gran turismo sport, ace combat and they're making a FPS, they also have 2 studios specifically for VR. what they're making though is anyones guess. (29 minutes ago)
  • KORNdog
KORNdog @droezelke: consider sony's expectations for it's lifetime sales are only 3/54 and it's pretty good going. it's outsold the competition (combined) by over double. (30 minutes ago)

droezelke This seems to me that big budget titles aren't likely in the near future. (38 minutes ago)
