This is amazing news!
But I wonder what makes Sakaguchi and Mistwalker do all these 360 games when the japanese audience isn't all that thrilled by the machine. Are developers tired of Sonys monopoly or what's going on?

I'd say they most certainly looooove MS' money. I wonder how many MS gave to Sakaguchi to make him one of the biggest japanese Xbox 360 supporter (along with Itakagi), but I'm sure glad they did :p

Isn't it obvious they want the Japanese to see what XBO has to offer. Notice that all 4 of the Japanese rpgs are XBO exclusive. And if the Jap ppl like what they see it would most likely persuade them to buy it. I am sure that there will be more Jap games in the future for the 360.

this one looks like the best of the 3...the other two look a little narrow visioned.... i know all i have to make this opinion is a name and some art work, but goth and vampire settings don't really do it for me

Sakaguchi and nobuo is without a company,or rather they started each own.
They doesnt have the safe square-enix to work for now, even though nobuo certainliy can go back whenever he want.
Anyway, both wanna try out their own companies and see if they can do a working company on their own.
And they co-op because they know their names is strong enough to be able to get a publisher like MS.

Its not like Sakaguchi and nobuo was gonna quit their own companies after blue dragon lost odyssey,as seen here :P
However if they stay with 360 forever i dont know.
I heard something of a GBA strategy rpg in a swedish magazine for some months ago...

Calling the art of lost odyssey for goth and vampire is just wrong...
anyway, this art look promising,i wonder what kind of game this will be...and what it will be about.

What i meant is,we seen white city and shores and lightblue seas,we also seen futurstic cities and places, how is that goth?

The statue looks almost like one of the Colossi from Shadow of the Colossus.

Awesome news though, glad to see the 360 getting support from well respected Japanese developers.

To this point, X360 has had _MORE_ interesting game announcements compared to what PS2 or Xbox HAS(or surely had in the time of launch).

Does it matter what score a game get from a publication to be a AAA title? I mean, some games are way over-rated, and some are under-rated.

Hironobu Sakaguchi and Nobuo Uematsu both started their own companies. Sakaguchi started "Mistwalker" (a gaming PRODUCTION company) and Uematsu started "Smile Please" (a music development/production company).

Note that these guys aren't exactly game developers per se, but if you want to get a good RPG done there is no one else other than Hironobu Sakaguchi that is best suited to get the right people together. Nobuo Uematsu is now a world renowed musician due to his work on the Final Fantasy series and no doubt the wants to diversify.

Hironobu Sakaguchi is a man of many ties in Japan, just in a short span of time he has managed to get Akira Toriyma for Blue Dragon (the creator of Dragonball), Takehiko Inoue for Lost Odyssey (the creator of Slam Dunk) and Nobuo Uematsu. All those names are VERY VERY VERY big in Japan.

MS Japan is certainly doing a great job getting these influencial people to come in. Sakaguchi, Mizuguchi, Okamoto and so much more! While these guys are not exactly exclusive to MS, from what I hear MS takes care of them. Mizuguchi is already considering a 2nd game for the XBOX 360 after Ninety Nine Nights. Okamoto will continue to develop Every Party and hopefully share the game with the whole world!

XBOX 360 in Japan has a fighting chance this time around!

Nobuo and sakaguchi sometimes went out and drinked when they worked at square-enix and are friend irl,and akria worked with sakaguchi in chrono trigger,so im not so soupriced sakaguchi can get the AAA people.
These people are not developers?

Sakaguchi programmed and made graphic in FF1-FF5 and wrote the story and event in them, and made game ideas implanted.
If thats not a game developer i dont know what is,however as himself said...

Sakaguchi: Well, with FFV, I worked with Kitase, and we also did VI together. And after that, Chrono Trigger, too. In FFVII, there was the need for CG movies, and we did not have the skill for that. At the time, we had only worked with the Super Famicom, so our knowledge of CG implementation was near to zero.

I dont expect Sakaguchi to do some programming or anything equal in BD or LO,but it was him who came up with the idea behind lost odyssey and backround story and characters,it was him who looked for a publisher so he could make his own game (Lost odyssey),basically a peter jackson,he did the same, and was not it he who did lotr? or is the people he hired and worked the most the ones who made it?And bt yes it was sakaguchi who hired for ex kitase and the others i forget how to spell their names, when no one belived in them,it was him who steered them and changed their ideas into awesome games like ff6-ff7.
Sakaguchi a =speilberg
No,speilberg or lucas did not do the computer graphic in every movie, nor the story in their own.

Anyway, sakaguchi himself was the one who came up with the sahdows and dragons skill system in Blue dragon, how much he does and so on i dont know.
But seeing how he is producer and wrote and made FF4 for ex that is out now to GBA is a sign that he know himself how to do a awesome rpg.
Ofc every fatcat hire people who do his work when he get rich, and then managed and steer it as himself want.

Btw,In feel plus,30 former FF workers are in there now,and 10 come from square-enix too in mistwalker, basically 40 people behind FF serie and FF creator and composer is doing Lost odyssye...very intresting.

Awesome, a 3rd game by Mystwalker. And Cavia are a famous developer for their stylised and niche RPG titles so this should be really interesting. Granted I'm not really into action RPGs, though if this is good I'll probably pick it up. Either way it should help X360 in Japan.

since these are just development houses, my bet is it's just that MS just gave them the chance to publish their games, and gave them a large sum of money upfront to develop the best ones possible.

either way, it's a damn fine move by Microsoft. i can't wait for them to arrive.
