Looks really nice. But i'm very afraid how it's gonna look on consoles. However...i was at the GDC in Germany last August and the devs there said they found a way to get the amazing lighting effects working perfectly on the consoles. But all else....it remains to be seen.
720p or slightly less, fxaa, lower shadow and textures res.
Crysis 2 looked excellent on both 360/PS3.
Problem was slight area's framerates dropped to 20fps, if they can keep it 30 most of the time it'll be fine.
If nothing else, it'll probably end up on the next generation of consoles at some point so MS can show off how awesome the new hardware is and it'll look pretty good there if that does happen.
But especially these kind of games along with Far Cry 3 just show how nessecary new consoles are now. Let's hope 2013 finally is that year, with a holiday 2013 release.
Crysis 3 wont be any different if they couldnt do anything with Crysis 1 or 2.
I actually hope crisis is retired after this.
Crytek should try another area with this engine. wasted on this type of game imo.
Imagine in 3-5yrs time us looking back at this with abit of a "meh". Unless ofcourse dev's start focusing more on gameplay and story innovations instead
it looks nice but this is entry level i'd expect with next gen...as its not exactly a huge leap over what current gen gives us now is it. I'd expect the 360 version to have everything there to the untrained eye...just more blurry and an attempted 30fps.

Pretty sure you won't see these graphics on the new consoles at launch. Try to cramp the power needed to render these graphics in a console without burning it. Don't think that hardware exists now that remains cool enough to cool with a silent cooler. Unless they work with liquid cooling in consoles, but Sony and MS won't take that risk (waranty and such).
The only 1080p game you'll get on PlaySTation 4 is something really well grounded n current-gen looks and maybe @ 60fps. Never a wowzers game like this.
Everything is so scripted, too "on rails", literally at times. Looks like we ran out of imagination with shooters. This happened long ago, but am just now getting very tired of it.
Why are we discussing graphics with gameplay like that? Sure, it looks amazing, but I didn't see ONE thing that hasn't been done a million times since the beginning of FPSs.

U Guys don't know much about the console version. It is going to use a completely new Anti-Aliasing technique SMAA-T2X (Enhanced Subpixel Morphological Antialiasing) specially developed for the console version of Crysis 3 (not used in Crysis 2 console version) in cooperation with a stellar programmer named Jorge Jimenez, so say goodbye to the jaggies and welcome the best AA yet available on consoles in Crysis 3, check the links for the demo's and more info http://www.iryoku.com/smaa-t2x-source-code-release...
Crysis games on consoles have all been sub Hd blurry nonsense crap and it looks like shit compared to a proper 720p game IMO.

Still, Crysis is just as bland to me in terms of both aesthetics & game-play, as most other shooters.
So I don't care if it's rendered at 8k with x200 AA, I'd rather play something else.
