Is it me or do I see a lot of framerate dips. It sure isn't 60fps all the time.

Not at all surprising. Remember how Crysis could really run on the machines that existed when the game was released? Expect similar stuff with this. Ook at how incredible it looks. It's clearly earned it's less than stable framerate, unlike every console game on the market.

its to spice with cimenatic effect the on-rails scripted cutscene moments.

Looks really nice. But i'm very afraid how it's gonna look on consoles. However...i was at the GDC in Germany last August and the devs there said they found a way to get the amazing lighting effects working perfectly on the consoles. But all else....it remains to be seen.

If nothing else, it'll probably end up on the next generation of consoles at some point so MS can show off how awesome the new hardware is and it'll look pretty good there if that does happen.

Console version is obvious how it will turn out...sub HD garbage.
Commented on 2012-12-21 18:30:12
On console it'll be.

720p or slightly less, fxaa, lower shadow and textures res.

Crysis 2 looked excellent on both 360/PS3.

Problem was slight area's framerates dropped to 20fps, if they can keep it 30 most of the time it'll be fine.

I guess i'm one of the few that wasn't all that impressed with Crysis 2 at all. I found it highly overrated on the graphics aspect. Shadows at times looked horrible and the overal graphics simply weren't all that special if you ask me. It had its moments though. Especially the introduction inside the ship.

But especially these kind of games along with Far Cry 3 just show how nessecary new consoles are now. Let's hope 2013 finally is that year, with a holiday 2013 release.

Crysis games on consoles have all been sub Hd blurry nonsense crap and it looks like shit compared to a proper 720p game IMO.
Crysis 3 wont be any different if they couldnt do anything with Crysis 1 or 2.

Personally i'm looking forward to other games. Star wars 1313, watchdogs. etc.

I actually hope crisis is retired after this.

Crytek should try another area with this engine. wasted on this type of game imo.

I've watched it again, and there are some serious framrate dips. Some of them lower than 30fps imo. That is not a good thing. If they can't run it at 60fps all the time at Crytek, it's not going to run better on any rig. That is weird, because they said it would be well optimized because of the better use of the engine. And according to their required specs they released, a GTX680 is recommended for the high-end requirement, not the recommended requirement wich would be a GTX660ti. I hope they are now fully concentrating on optimising and nvidia releases very good drivers at launch.

it looks nice but this is entry level i'd expect with next gen...as its not exactly a huge leap over what current gen gives us now is it. I'd expect the 360 version to have everything there to the untrained eye...just more blurry and an attempted 30fps.

Imagine in 3-5yrs time us looking back at this with abit of a "meh". Unless ofcourse dev's start focusing more on gameplay and story innovations instead

U Guys don't know much about the console version. It is going to use a completely new Anti-Aliasing technique SMAA-T2X (Enhanced Subpixel Morphological Antialiasing) specially developed for the console version of Crysis 3 (not used in Crysis 2 console version) in cooperation with a stellar programmer named Jorge Jimenez, so say goodbye to the jaggies and welcome the best AA yet available on consoles in Crysis 3, check the links for the demo's and more info http://www.iryoku.com/smaa-t2x-source-code-release...

Pretty sure you won't see these graphics on the new consoles at launch. Try to cramp the power needed to render these graphics in a console without burning it. Don't think that hardware exists now that remains cool enough to cool with a silent cooler. Unless they work with liquid cooling in consoles, but Sony and MS won't take that risk (waranty and such).

one reason that shit looks so good its because how detailed it looks @ 1080p, the little defects on the gun and textures on the arms is crazy.

The only 1080p game you'll get on PlaySTation 4 is something really well grounded n current-gen looks and maybe @ 60fps. Never a wowzers game like this.

Why are we discussing graphics with gameplay like that? Sure, it looks amazing, but I didn't see ONE thing that hasn't been done a million times since the beginning of FPSs.

Everything is so scripted, too "on rails", literally at times. Looks like we ran out of imagination with shooters. This happened long ago, but am just now getting very tired of it.

wonder is we'll get the same over-heating problems as this gen. Hopefully MS will choose a different colour than red this time. Hard to believe the 360 became the success it did when you think back to how regular the ROD was reported. It had quality games on it's side though... MS seem to be in a different mindframe these days when it comes to exclusives, be interesting if they do have those same teething problems next time round

Only thing I dislike about this is the british accent, it's awful and sounds so fake, but I do love me some crysis and this looks amazing.

I don't see why people go all nerd out so much with the tech. It looks fine to me on console. Obviously it will look miles better on PC.

Still, Crysis is just as bland to me in terms of both aesthetics & game-play, as most other shooters.

So I don't care if it's rendered at 8k with x200 AA, I'd rather play something else.
