Potentially very good.I just hope it is not just another let down, lately i have been let down big time with games like bionic commando and terminator salvation.
Commented on 2009-05-26 16:10:08
slinky i agree,
i was hyped about salvation and bionic commando too and after player the later is awefull, not played salvation but from what i hear its even worse than BC,the reviews put me off buying it,may try it when it goes stupidly cheat preowned as i imagine alot will be returning there copy.
i read completed in 4 hours or less ,alot less if offline co-op.
was really annoyed to find it had offline co-op and not live co-op(major mistake if u ask me)

Don't know what to think. The combat seems off, like a bad version of third-person cover combat.

I just hope MSFT still have the Crimson Skies IP and know how to use it.

I was wondering how this game was coming along. It's looking very good indeed.

Should Capcom officially have the moniker of having disappointing games? All The GRIN games, RE 5, and everything of theirs on current-gen 360/PS3 except for SF IV.

I hope they follow through with making level design such so, that you can use the jetpack anywhere, and not become the punitive linear experience that is Bionic Commando.

all i know is that Bear Mccreary is composing for this game. that's probably the main draw for me on this game.

I have no idea about the fly-anywhere approach, but I think it won't be much different than semi-linear. What I did read in a preview (I can't remember where, I think Gamespot), is that controlling the jetpack is punishing difficult because as soon as you hit something (especially in the more closed levels) while hoovering, it's game-over as you fall to the ground. I hope this will not be the case in the final product.

That's not fair. Lost Planet and Dead Rising were both very fun games. Looking forward to the sequels even.

Hardly.

The real draw to this game is that it is being developed by Airtight Games, the development team from FASA responsible for the oft times, too kick ass for words, Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge, 1st party Xbox exclusive last-gen.

For any of the 2 million people who played that game, the knowledge that Airtight Games is making a new game, is a far better draw than knowing the guy who scored the music for BSG is scoring the music for a video game. Not knocking Bear McCreary; I love his style and his work. But games are first and foremost about gameplay. And knowing that a AAA developer capable of delivering a AAA game experience, is working on a title, is a far larger draw than on who gets to score the music.

I think if Capcom (as the publisher) would stop bullshitting around and start informing gamers about Dark Voids development lineage, this game would be on a lot more gamer's radars, and the level of confidence from gamers in general, that a AAA experience is likely in the works here, would be much higher.
As there is nothing like knowing that a developer has a proven track record for making great games, to help create positive buzz behind a new IP.

err never heard of that game before. but nice opinion. the draw to ME is still the music. gameplay is nice too but the music is gonna be pretty damn excellent. have a feeling the flying parts are either going to be really good or a huge letdown and the gunfights looks pretty much like the standard cover/shoot mechanic that lots of games have nowadays, save for the fact that you can go "vertical" now.

I heard that the jet-pack can be used anywhere, so they had to design levels around that. http://www.gametrailers.com/video/captivate-09-dar...

How in the world does the main character keep his legs from burning off when he uses the jet pack?

Tiz The H6 campaign I meant. (10 Hours ago)

Tiz @amerakindesi: I liked 4's campaign as well, 5 was a massive misstep and while Joe isn't necessary for the H5 campaign to be good, I think he is necessary for it to be epic. (10 Hours ago)

amerakindesi To be frank though I loved halo 1, halo 2, halo 3, halo 4 campaigns in that order. 4 was my fav. (10 Hours ago)
