hmmm MOST IMPRESSIVE. This is up against Bayonetta in terms of release dates and to be frank, I'd take this over it (I am buying both anyways) but most certainly will play this first.
God of Gears of War—Anyone said that yet about this game?
Other than that, it looks cool. Compare/contrast with Bayonetta: DS has better design, Bayonetta looks like its going to have a more innovative combat system. We haven't seen much about the combat in this, have we?
This is not an action game like Bayonetta at all,its isnt fair to campare it to Bayonetta because putting it simple Bayonetta its a straight up action game and Darksiders its a open world,exploration kinda of game with some combat here and there,the combat itself its somewhat better that games of the same genre say Zelda because Vigil put a little more time in the combat system to make it a little up to today standard.
But if you go looking for an action game in Darksiders you will be for a surprise because itsmore about exploring dungeons,get this item to enter to previous areas that werent looked but you cannot enter yet exactly like Zelda.
And thats what I find interesting the most Im not seeing this game as a competitor to Bayonetta at all,I will get them both of course seeing as this its my HD mature Zelda Ive been waiting for and Bayonetta its my dream action game.
I will play Bayonetta first contrary to Alimo though :P
Character design is awful. I really prefer the leaner, sleeker look of a Ryu Hayabusa for instance. Makes the moves look much cooler and smoother. Here it all just looks a bit awkward...

Haha, don't worry I'm still interested in this game. I think it could be fun, but I haven't seen enough info/footage to make much of it. I'll await some reviews first. :)
Anyways, the art design is definitely very western comic like which I dont mind at all, like it.
But the game as a whole is something I dont know. I do like what they have showned, but I dont know how long it is, what is there to do when you are done with it...etc.
I do wish there was a demo before release though, kind of like what EA is doing with Dante's Inferno for next week on PSN store.
I will see what happens when the game is out, but so far it looks pretty decent.
The reviewer of that magazine was at 30 hours in and he said that he didnt do anything the game has to offer so I guess its a long game if you like to explore and that stuff.
And I agree I would like a demo too if only to see and feel the controls because I will buyt it regardless Ive been waiting forever for this as for Bayonetta too so no matter the reviews I will get them.

Maybe the reviewer doesnt realize he experienced what the game has to offer him :P
Games with one time experience is somewhat a pretty much a big no-go for me, that is unless I found the gameplay incredibly fun to go back to (NG games is for me).
So with Darksiders, I dont know, I have mixed bag opinions on it.
I love the explorations, small upgrade elements and such, and the combat is pretty decent and all. But what happens when you complete the game? If there is a new game+ then its okay.

Fact 2 : both gotta be released at the same time (more or less) which leads us to
Fact 3: having a choice I pick this over beyonetta (which, for me is just terrible due to awful main character and overall design)

Point 1:you said this "this>beyonetta" in doing that you are mixing genres and thats not a fair match up.

I'm pumped to hear this is open world and (IMHO) open world > linear game. But I'm a huge fan of pure action games (one of the few genres where linearity is permissible), so is pure action > freedom? I suppose that depends on the degree and quality of said freedom vs said action. And that has yet to be seen in Darksiders, as many posters have already noted.
But Bayonetta is a dork no matter what, with those damn glasses! :p

So you're saying we should not confuse opinion with ontology. I agree. But where the line between them is in general, or the question of the ontology of opinion, is a deeper question that can be addresssed on Gamersyde forums.
Nonetheless, one of the reasons why I think its funny when you tell us that's just our opinion is, that at least in my case, I *already* know that. *You* already know that. So you saying that to us, in my opinion, clearly has a different function that merely informing us that our opinion is our opinion. And frankly, I see it as a way of reminding *yourself* that anything bad we say about Bayonetta doesn't really matter—a fetishistic disavowal of the (perceived) faults of the game.
Anyway, having played the Bayonetta demo last night, all I can say is that I want her combo system with the design of Darksiders. (But I also wanted Halo AI in the design of Bound in Blood, and that wasn't happening either!)
