Dirt 2 rally trailer

Dirt 2 rally trailer

Codemasters has just released this exciting new trailer of Colin McRae: Dirt 2 and the least we can say is that September 8 - and 10 in Europe - can't come any sooner.

i like how the RL footage shows this huge diversity of road types, yet all the game seem to be offering is african style dust tracks....i hope theres more to the game then that.

After the first Dirt, and then the sloppy Grid, I'm worried about Codemasters and that they will never find their way back to the Toca style racers. That said, dirt was still a fun arcade rally game and of course the graphics are quite nice.

I agree with Korndog about the lack of track variety as well. That is also a problem I have. Does anyone know how many cars on the track at once in the multiplayer? Haven't heard that number yet.

It might not come anywhere close to being as good as a Forza or GT, but it will be a fun arcade style distraction until the big dogs come out.

I just hope the physics have a little more weight this time. I'm not a big fan of floating around on dirt. But damn, game sure is purdy ;-)

Not alot wrong with dirt or grid.

Other then the car stopping/handling abit too arcadey.

@xgei8ht- They're racing games. When the stopping/handling isn't right, that's a pretty big fucking deal! It's kind of the most important thing to get right in a racing game :P

@Haig07- Haven't you read any previews? They announced that quite awhile ago. The xbox avatars are prizes you can win from doing well in the races. There's other dashboard decorations as well.

@Nietzsche- 8 cars on track for multiplayer. They say the physics are supposed to have a bit more weight this time so it's easier to powerslide through turns, but we'll see...

its kind of reassuring that there is still some way to go before true photo realisim. Though saying that the only thing that really lets dirt 2 down is the less vibrant colours.

My most anticipated game this year and I didn't even know that xD

@Asurashadow
Thanks for the info. If the game does indeed add quite a bit more weight in the physics I will be very happy. Dirt and Grid had so much potential but really fell short of what i think most racing fans were truly hoping for.

After a carefully conducted analysis I can clearly say that reality got the better graphics, physics and crash model. I will buy reality and leave Dirt 2 be.
