E3 Gameplay of Hunt: Showdown

E3 Gameplay of Hunt: Showdown

Before E3, Crytek revealed that their project titled Hunt: Horrors of the Gilded Age became Hunt: Showdown, a PvP monster hunter game. The title debuted last week at E3 but behind closed doors so today Crytek has released 10 minutes of gameplay footage commented by Creative Director Magnus Larbrant and Level Design Director Chris Auty.

the lighting is super impressive, it creates the perfect setting like crysis did back in the day.

Too bad the performance is beyond pathetic and terrible, even for alpha state.

wait for the final product, the performance issues will be fixed suerly... if Crytek is something capable of, than it is creating stunning visuals ;-)

the AADS split second zoom slowdown, the horrible temporal motion blur, the bad feel of "cinematic 24fps", it seems tied to the engine, like a bad take on cryengine, like that is anything new.

Oh yes, they are able to create stunning visuals, but they lack optimisation every single time. Crysis 1: nobody was able to play the game at highest settings @60 fps. They released 3 patches I believe, and It still ran like crap.Same with the expansion. Then Crysis 2 came out, and that one ran well on high-end pc's, but wasn't on par with the tech used in Crysis 1. Crysis 3 ran like crap on PC because of some physics problems and AA didn't work properly. Rise: son of Rome couldn't maintain 30 fps on consoles, while it was exclusivly built for X1. The PC version ran better, but not great.
Crytek don't have a reputation for optimisation, only for visuals.

Ohh, snap. I just bought a 55" LG B7 OLED. This looks like an excellent OLED game!

This looks like an excellent game to showcase HDR. Too bad it apparently's gonna be online-only PvP without SP campaign.

Oh yea ? Looks like Slender to me, well... on my shitty monitor that is. No way telling if this has good graphics or not. But since this is Crytek i'll give'em the benefit of doubt. Too bad gameplay looks shite, movement is oh so slow...

About the game

What's up?
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX And they have their own stories to tell, their own games to design. If they're making a new film in a franchise you enjoy, do you also not care who makes it? (22 minutes ago)
  • MrWhite
MrWhite Yeah, I wouldn't want Naughty Dog anywhere near Half Life. They'd turn it into a generic and linear run of the mill action shooter that looks good, but overrated. (24 minutes ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX It's not like those people working on this imaginary game aren't working on other real games instead anyway. Nothing is lost. (34 minutes ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX And I don't prefer to have "nothing" because I bother to recognize Valve's actual game development. (35 minutes ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX "I don't care who develops it" is a really weird thing for a person who cares about games to say. (36 minutes ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX But I understand that thought process in today's highly branded market. Gotta have that franchise name attached to a product to care about it. (37 minutes ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX @Sdarts: No, I prefer creators keep their content to themselves instead of farming it out to third parties because it's a terrible way to make video games. (37 minutes ago)
