Well if you hate "goty" quotes stay away from uncharted threads b/c every other post is some variation of "OMGF GOTY!!!!!!!!!" lol.
As for Gears 3, the Horde 2.0 is the one thing, more than any other that has be very, very excited about this game. Buying new items on the fly and boss battles every 10th wave just sounds fucking amazing.
This is easily a day one buy for me for the wonderful new horde mode alone. The online co-op in that mode is going to be such a blast.
Why do you guys even bother trying to get some sense into "manthatyoufear" he is clearly a ps3 fanboy that tries to troll every possible good game out there that isn't coming out for ps3.
Meh looks alright I suppose, we could really do with next gen already :P
I also hate the GOTY, it gets used too much and I knew when I came in here the thread would read like a bunch of fan girls screaming and shouting at a boy-band concert.

but the difference is this game has already been played....
its not like uncharted where people are excited and making statements when they havent even played the game

no definitely no goty, i liked the beta but to me it still feels kinda sluggish like gears2 (which was garbage material) but without the laggfest, for sure it looks better than gears2 but i miss the good old feel of the epic game that gears1 was, played it from release to about a couple weeks ago. im still considering it cuz buds r getting. GOTY is gonna be either skyrim, uncharted or battlefield
It doesn't really get much better than a Gears game in all honesty. Yes some may laugh at everything there is to laugh at in a Gears game- it makes itself an easy target -, but it has an exceptional fun to combat and a 'terrible' story told well by it's execution. Very few shooter touch this game
I find myself agreeing with most of those things said of Gears about cheese and massive absurd chunky men saying stupid shit for example, but i still end up very much part of the experience each time. Stories don't have to be about perfect scripts with flawlessly realised characters, or be a story nobody has ever heard of before. Gears just seems to work
total bullshots, but this time I think the game looks better (based on the footage I've seen) because it isn't so sharp. These shots make me think of the way PC games used to look that I never liked (thankfully thats no longer the case). I also think its interesting how smooth the games edges look for an engine that can't do AA (supposedly)...

Yeah but obviously you add your own jaggies for these type of pictures. It will be of a lower resolution too. but still consist of the same geometry shown. In motion it doesn't matter much unless someone suffers with some form of ocd maybe. Gears 1 still looks gorgeous to me and Gears better still- for sheer raw wow, Gears2 architecture is simply unbeatable regardless of what better tech.Gears3 should be similarly so
btw. mine will be neither Gears 3 nor Uncharted 3, but i'll buy both day 1, both Gears 3 and Uncharted 3 look very good and will be fun like the predecessors :)

as with Uncharted 3... imo no bullshots, taking a look at Crysis 2 (at least 360-version) proves that graphics like in those Uc3+Gears3-screens can be handled
UC3 and Gears 3 both look a loooot better than the console version of Crysis 2 btw. But this looks good :) few low-res textures here and there but not a bad looking game for a 360 game. As for GotY? Maybe, maybe not. It's not exactly the front-runners, but is very much a contender.
