E3: ReCore gameplay

ReCore is playable at Microsoft's booth, and Miguel got to film almost its whole demo running here on a PC.

I think the art style they used for marketing and originally presenting the game was much better suited and more unique to the kind of game it is. Wish they had kept that.

This was one of the games I was hyped for but after that video, not so much. How they marketed that game and what I just saw seems very different. This might as well be Rachet & Clank.

From the creators of Metroid? Really? Everything seemed right there.....until we actually see the gameplay.

yeah, i don't know if i like what i see. but then it's a budget game selling for a budget price. so i can give them a bit of slack. it kinda reminds me of MDK (i think it's the janky animation and camera) and as much as i liked MDK back in the day...it's a 20 year old game. i didn't expect a game from 2016 to be reminding me of it.

It looks the same art direction to me?

Animation is really not great though... I hope there is more exploration, platforming, puzzles etc.

About the game

GriftGFX I wasn't really setting up any specific comparison at all. I said modern phones and many PCs. That's pretty vague. You can set whatever limits on that you want. (30 minutes ago)

GriftGFX Granted.. synthetic benchmarks are just that.. but in Geekbench 4 a Snapdragon 835 can outperform a Q9550.. which is definitely faster than the E6600. (46 minutes ago)

GriftGFX My personal history of personal computing goes back to 8-bit computers. I think 2017 ARM CPUs are amazing. (48 minutes ago)

GriftGFX @droezelke: I said E6600.. and its single core performance in synthetic benchmarks is certainly comparable. But yes. You can go back to the 80s. I didn't say anything about them being modern. (48 minutes ago)

droezelke @GriftGFX: no, a snapdragon 835 does not have computing power of a Q6600 (9 years old). Do you really want to go further in time to prove your statement made sense? (53 minutes ago)

GriftGFX And "many" isn't a specific number. There are many 8088s :D (1 Hour ago)

GriftGFX But the exponential rate of progress means that you don't have to go back too far to make that true. A lot of the progress here was done in our lifetimes. That's amazing. (1 Hour ago)
