E3: Saint's Row presentation - Part 1

After Crackdown, it's now time to see if Saint's Row has what it takes to be the first true next-gen GTA. Here is a first answer, with the first half of a 10 minutes long presentation. You'll see the character creation interface, and the first steps from the beginning of the game. Fights, driving, gangstas and low-budget whores... Saint's Row ain't crawling under originality. The only thing that could make a difference with the GTA series is online multiplayer, but we'll have to wait a bit longer to know more about it, as it wasn't showcased at E3.

eh. The only thing I find interesting in this game is the create-a-playuh.

Looks ok graphics wise though.

this game is looking too awesome, with the way you can create a character I would never get bored of this. Only thing I could think of to complain about is that theres no motorcycles (Or at least I dont think there is).

I wanna know what the deal is with the demo, they said they would be releasing it a while ago.

This game will be a solid game for sure with an online play to boost it up, graphics looks good gameplay seem to be on the right track the only think i wanted was a helicopter to fly around the city but i probley of to wait till SR2 to get that but then again next gen GTA will be out so this game will keep me going till GTA next gen arrive next year.

I dont care about "orginality". I just want gta kind of game beforea real GTA comes out. In 1.5 years. This looks really nice. Good times at september.

I´m more of a GTA person myself, but this looks like it could be a really good game.
Also, it basically pushes GTA4 to having some sort of online play so I´m happy. ;)

This game's looking to shape up VERY nicely, all we need now is a Demo to keep us busy till the game's released :D there's not really anything coming before this either which is kinda bad really, all the games come "this summer" or "this Fall" more the latter so it kinda sucks.

Yeah, but that list is a bit out of date. I think we can safely assume The Darkness is NOT coming out in June 2006. That said, I see about 5 potentially good games between now and Sept.

I agree here. I found this video very generic after watching all of the super jumping and pretty explosions in the Crackdown demonstration. These games need to do something to differentiate themselves from one another, and so far I'm not seeing that from Saint's Row.
