ACTIVISION PUBLISHING, INC. AND PLATINUMGAMES INC. CHANGE THE FIGHT IN TRANSFORMERS: DEVASTATION
New action-brawler video game lets fans experience the TRANSFORMERS like never before
SANTA MONICA, Calif. – June 16, 2015 – Activision Publishing, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Activision Blizzard, Inc. (NASDAQ: ATVI), today announced it is teaming up with acclaimed development studio PlatinumGames Inc. to release a groundbreaking new game starring the TRANSFORMERS Generations characters. Based on Hasbro’s colossal entertainment franchise, TRANSFORMERS: Devastation is a third-person action-brawler game with a breathtaking comic book-inspired visual style.
Forged with PlatinumGames’ gift for fast-paced action and mesmerizing art design, TRANSFORMERS: Devastation harnesses the unique abilities of its heroes to convert from robot to vehicle form to extraordinary effect. In this incredibly dynamic, combo-fueled experience, players battle as one of five AUTOBOTS – OPTIMUS PRIME, BUMBLEBEE, SIDESWIPE, WHEELJACK and GRIMLOCK. Throughout the game, players unlock new skills, forge new weapons, and augment their characters to battle against the vicious DECEPTICONS, including MEGATRON and the powerful combiner DEVASTATOR.
PlatinumGames utilizes cel-shaded artwork to create contemporary versions of the bold, brightly colored designs of the original TRANSFORMERS characters. The game features a story inspired by the IDW comic book universe and includes the talents of legendary voice actors like Dan Gilvezan as BUMBLEBEE, Frank Welker as MEGATRON and SOUNDWAVE, Gregg Berger as GRIMLOCK, and Peter Cullen as OPTIMUS PRIME.
TRANSFORMERS: Devastation is expected to arrive later this year on the PlayStation®4 and PlayStation®3 computer entertainment systems, Xbox One, the all-in-one games and entertainment system from Microsoft, the Xbox 360 games and entertainment system from Microsoft, and Windows PC via Steam. the arcade shadow dancer is also nice, built on the same gameplay foundations as arcade shinobi, but a bit weaker level design. i also love rolling thunder 1&2, which are also very similar (4 Hours ago)
i played a bit of shinobi and kunoichi on ps2, but they are really just shinobi in name. (4 Hours ago)
game gear shinobi is more like the arcade version than the mega drive ones. (4 Hours ago)
I'd love some kind of real Sega revival. (4 Hours ago)
I like a bunch of Shinobi games. Even the Game Gear had great Shinobi games. Also the PS2 Shinobi was too quickly forgotten. (4 Hours ago)
my fav Sega game is Shinobi (original arcade). I still play it now and then. I think they have other, more recognizable and iconic characters/brands, but for me those games don't hold up as well today (4 Hours ago)
Wasn't really bashing it anyway. I love a lot of Sega stuff, and I think Shenmue is okay. Maybe a bit overrated is all. (4 Hours ago)
