I'm going to need a costa for my dribble, it cannot be argued, this is the best looking console game to date, more astonishing is that their are probably going to be more visually stunning levels that obviously for the point of surprise will remain secret, till the day of release.
the game looks really nice but some animations (especially when jumping) are not so good. if the game will have some destructible environments it would be better. so its looking a bit too oldshool. (this gfx will not be compatible with destruction) but still a game that i would love to see a xbox360 port ;)
Is an old video, the new e3 '09 gameplay video is available in direct-feed on the web somewhere. its has some bits of environmental destruction as well. the water interaction is cool as how it wets the clothing and ripples on contact. the texture quality and lighting is second to none. beautiful colours.
@ Thor, I took this Video on the show floor of E3 so it can't be that old. I was told it was the same build as the demo shown at the Sony Press conference.
The first game was excellent. This looks to be a better game. But it's really hard for me to call it best graphics of any console game watching all the videos. I'm equally impressed with AC2 and LP2. Also Forza 3 and Alan Wake also are right up there for best graphics. It's a tough call. But I got a feeling UC2 wont get the majority of media awards for best graphics 2009. I think that may go to Forza 3 this year. Alot of UC2 we have seen is very enclosed. And the animations of Altairs climbing and jumping are alot better than in UC2. Dont know. Graphics are to close to call between alot of games.
When you watch F3 you go OMG. Watch LP2 you go OMG, same with others I mentioned. HAs anyone watched the extended Splinter Cell Conviction Gameplay from E3. When you see Sam in the street and realise it's player controlled that looks like CGI. To close to call. But again looks great.
Looks beautiful, but I'm still dissapointed that they aren't animating the Bump/normals on his clothes like they did in the first. This one is looking a bit more action oriented, which is fine. It looks excellent, but I was more impressed by what Splinter Cell is doing shader and lighting wise. AC2 is also up there when you consider the scope...
Looks great as usual...no one should doubt Naughty Dog tech capabilities, they did write a new programming language for their PS2 engine after all. These guys are hardcore when it comes to graphics. YAY for Naughty Dog! I do hope they "buy back" (like Bungie) their company from Sony though, awesome developers like ND should remain independent.
This game looks to kick uncharted 1's ass which was just good. The gunplay, platforming and everything else in between was just "good" graphics were very nice in the 1st one but is given too much credit and over praised. U2 however, uses their solid foundation and just makes it awsome. Stunning to look at, weapons which pack a punch (played U2 beta) and everything just feels better. I just hope they can sort out the matchmaking as trying to join a game is just plain annoying, I can hardly ever get into a game, but when I do I enjoy it. Reflections are defo note worthy to me too lol as everything is reflected perfectly, no missing details.
Just come off having a few hours of co-op and mp action and i gotta say it's defo the best looking console game to date. To the 360 fans sitting on the fence, do yourself a favour and buy a PS3 as you really are missing out on a spectacular game!

No offense, many PS3 owners said the same thing with MGS4 over Gears 2. I own both and it just wasnt the case then. I havent played UC2, but based on the video eveidence of it and other games like AC2, LP2, Forza 3, Alan Wake and Splinter Cell Conviction I just dont believe it.
But it will be a great game to own as was the first.

couldnt agree more, the MP beta looks better then most single player games. and you'd have to assume it's at least a little downgraded compared to what the single player of uncharted is going to offer visually. the game is so smooth both in it's animations and performance as well as the AA. such a stunning looking game.
It's a testament to this games quality that people (and by people I mean jealous Xbots) can only nitpick about a couple of slightly stiff animations, which are probably unfinished anyway. At the moment for me it is the best looking game so far on any console, the view from the top of the tower in the E3 Demo convinced me of that.
The only thing that I have seen that was slightly odd was again from the E3 demo, the helicopters machine gun fire was just passing through Nathan and not hurting him. Dunno what that was about, maybe it was made that way so they wouldn't die during the demonstration?

No thanks. As fantastic as Uncharted 2 looks - it is probably the most visually stunning console game ever - it isn't one of the games that will make me buy a PS3. Although, I will actually buy it if I eventually get a PS3; it just isn't one of the games I'll be purchasing a PS3 primarily for.
Also, enough of the Sony advertising already... we had enough of that during E3.
