Codemasters released three new images of F1 2010. Not much to see you will tell me, but it should still please the fans.

Holy fuck! (...and I don't even care for F1 racing)

Is it a law that Codemasters racing games have to be smeared in brown?

What they did?

I think it looks awesome!!

What is Codemasters' obsession with brown lighting, bloom, blur. Is it all inherited from the EGO engine.

I mean generally they look good, not great. pics #1 & #3 - detract from the realism.

F1CE was colourful at least, if sterile.

as i said when the last set of images where released. this overly stylised aesthetic works great for something like DiRT, but not in an F1 game. it's distracting more then anything, almost looking like it's recorded on an anchient camera that can't quite capture colour properly.

i'm waiting for the central pivot steering which all codemasters games have had so far, THAT will be the major killer.

correction...

sepia tint AND the rediculous bloom, desaturated colours and excessive blur

@KORNdog
If that pivot handling is present, you're right, that will be the killer.
Dirt2 wasn't soo bad, but grid was shocking.

Their dev videos show the test driver for brawn last year providing feedback. I hope they deliver. F1 2010 on wii was let down by the system. This release is the next chance to have a decent up to date F1 title.

For god sake stop wiht that ugly brown filter and overbloomed crap.

I want natural colours but anyway game will be an arcade crap like all recent Codemasters games, shame because im a big F1 fan and it's a very long time ago since there was a good F1 sim released. Im already sick of F1 Challenge and rFactor, i want a new F1 game with awesome graphics and physics and not some brown, blured, arcade crap from Codemasters.

The images probably do it no justice, for those of us who have even played DiRT 2 it's clear to tell that whatever saturation is used is minimal,. Treat these screens for what they are, which are early build screenshots.

It's amazing anyone makes games with all the whiny bitching that goes on. Pic 2 has no "brown" in it at all. Go look at real life pictures- there is always a tint to the color. Hell, look outside. Sure it is desaturated, but what "brown" that is in there is extremely minimal. There is a good deal of nice detail in there, and all we hear is "OMG! It's Brown! That makes it shit!". The only valid critisism I see here is Korn talking about the central pivot, and we don't know if that is going to be there...

i really want to see that rain in motion. Eurogamer seemed impressed by it. Must be out soon?

oh, and those pits look great. That was the one thing that disappointed me with the awesome Forza 3.. the pit stops were laughable, no effert put into them

hope they bring co-op team play

The game running doesn't have all that brownish/sepia look. I think they will do it for the ambient of the location/track. Bahrain is a very hot place and the track is in the desert, so it should have that brownish look. That feeling that you are burning hot and you look around for a small shadow but can't see one LOL.

You can see that at Monza things are diferent.

But....there are some gameplay videos already(not direct feed though) for you to see if you don't believe me and yes the RAIN LOOKS AWESOME. SO ARE THE PITS.

There are more videos of their London(i think) demonstration.

Note: The cars shown are from the 2009 season wich WON'T be included in F1 2010. The demo was limited to Mark Webber and his Red Bull car, also to the Monza track. The handling and the damage were limited to ARCADE. This is a Alpha version of the game(it may be Pre-Alpha), i'm not certain though. It looks very cool and I hope the demo to come out as soon as possible.

Those video's look very good, but it looks to me that it's a central pivot system. I didn't mind that in Dirt 2 at all, but it looks a bit akward here.

So far so bad. Terrible shadowing, bad surrounding textures and i wont talk about the rest of you have talked earlyer. If you do not have what to show, just wait until you do. Why do they tease us with such poor quality. F1 game should be rock solid. Its a shame.

and droezelke all i can see is arcade racer so far in these vids.

If you knew what happens in 90% of studios and what staff goes through you probably would be left with no games to play, trust me...

Back to the topic, game looks great, career mode sounds amazing, shouldn't they have 2010 cars in marketing shots by now though?

No those videos that they have shown in the London event was in arcade mode.

Game will have nice gfx for sure and I think cockpit view will be nice too. Codemasters racers always have the artistic look not realistic :( The career mode looks really cool. But gameplay is very important. I hope it is more sim and challenging

Rain looks awesome. Just as i had hoped for.

Wish they could of got the game to 60fps though.. you can definatly feel the difference with racing games

Like I said, it's limited to arcade settings. Probably they got that directly from GRID so that they can work on simulation for a bit longer, i don't know. I know that Codemasters have been saying that the latest F1 Games(from Sony) have a lot of understeer going on and they are working on oversteer to the cars. It makes sense, knowing that F1 cars don't have Traction Control anymore. I just hope it comes out right.

The real cars are still getting a lot of modifications(like the mirrors now), so my guess is that they haven't really finished the cars at Codemasters. They wouldn't want all the F1 nerds at the forums whining about their mirrors being wrong and shit.

Hey I want realistic experience! I want first few races with Red Bull cheating hydraulics, half way through season mirror location changing etc. It is after all called F1 2010 right?! ;)

Everything has been said already, brown filter with excessive bloom etc. The EGO engine is really starting to become a nuisance to me.

Thing is though, that both Dirt and Dirt2 have levels/stages where this isn't present, or atleast far less prominently. But, the majority of the levels still have that shitty look to them.

And yeah, leave it to Codemaster to fuck up the handling again...

Those weather vids look amazing! The game will probably handle like crap though.
