Fable 2 has adorable monsters

Peter Molyneux is hard at work on the sequel to one of the most appreciated Xbox role-playing games, Fable 2. While we only have these three Gollum-like monsters renders to show you, it is still something to watch until the release date, which is scheduled somewhere in 2008.

Personally, and I'm sure that I'm the minority here, but I don't care about farting on people, visiting hookers, or kicking dogs. The generic character and monster design don't do much to sway my opinions of the game.

I just cant get excited about this.. since for me Fable 1 was such a huge dissapointment.. besides i got alittle personal boycot of peter molineux going on..

maybe i should give this stuff another chance... anyone played this yet?

Well I'm not expecting too much either, but those things and a bloody club (in the player's hand) look like a good match.

Alert Phaethon!

Fable 1 was pretty awesome, despite the fact that people allowed themselves to let hype get to them. Hype can destroy the perception of any good game.. and that's exactly what Fable was. A good, solid RPG.

More exploration this time plz.

The new features with the dog and parenting morality and what seems to be a very expansive world I am keeping my eye on this one. I don't think these creatures are generic though you don't see a lot of cute little golems or whatever. 1 wasn't as good as I thought it would be but it was still lots of fun. I have high hopes 4 this but I will read reviews before I buy it.

Nice creatures, Fable 2 is one of my reason why I am KEEPING the 360.
I really liked the first one, so second one won't be any different...i hope :)

Don't know what other player's priorities are, but I judge the game when I play it. And so Fable 1 was a great experience to me. The setting was nice, the world was moody and I had the feeling to play my very own character.
As for these monsters: They look great, not generic. And the graphics seem to be brilliant if they make it this way into the game.

I hope they are equally as expressive in the game, they would make for excellent enemies if they are.

I'm sure I'm in the majority here but I'm not surprised about your opinion of the game. :P

The character design was no more generic than...oh say...the character design in your avatar.

I liked Fable 1, but Peter Molyneux never fully delivers on what he's promised; I guess that's due to production, deadline, and resource problems.

there was plenty more than just hype disappointment.

-a poor save system
-weak combat
-if you're going to complain about jrpg linearity than don't mention Fable
-an insanely small world
-some of the features that were supposed to make it unique such as the aging were inplimented in a fashion that ends up making little sense
-frankly you didn't need to buy the hype to realize Molyneux had more planned, but for whatever reason (likely going over budget) he cut the implementation, wrapped the game up as best he could, and shipped it.

no, Fable wasn't as bad as some of its detractors would say, but it was far from peachy. i wouldn't even say it was "good" as i got through it but mostly because it was so short, and while it didn't leave a bad impression, it didn't leave a good one either. it had a distinct lack of any significant impression. it was a decent showing with above average potential that Molyneux is getting a second chance to try and fulfill

Aww they are so cute! Screw the dog in Fable 2, I'd rather have one of these as a sidekick!
