Fatal Frame V WiiU

Fatal Frame V WiiU

Released on the 27th of September in Japan, Fatal Frame V on the WiiU is a psychological horror game, armed with only an antique camera that captures images of spirits. The player uses the WiiU gamepad as the camera to capture spirits, but must be careful not to waste the film in the camera.

More to come, just need to find the nerve to carry on playing.

Update: 3rd video added. It's getting pretty tense now.

I wish it weren't exclusive of the WiiU, guess I'll never play it. I love the Fatal Frame series, some of the best horror games ever made.

fatal frame in USA, project zero in europe.

I love FF series, FF 2 is the best, I was scared so much playing that. 3rd was good, but not better. Then the series went to big N and I didn't have a chance to play IV and I probably won't play V :*(

The game looks good gameplay/atmosphere wise, but the visuals are from PS2 era (not a typo), sad. I wish this was on nextgen. But hey we have Kojima making new SH so I'm happy about that xD

Not a typo. Just wrong. This is Fatal Frame 3:

You are remembering wrong.

Damn nostalgia glasses xD

Ah well then it looks sh!t compared to next gen xD

I don't think it's "next gen" anymore. It's been almost a year.

..and the WiiU is still my favorite current gen console. Best library :P

Was just talking about Fatal Frame to friends the other day
What a coincidence to see a new one pop up

Why is this game listed as "Fatal Frame"? It's called Zero. Even if you want to use the EU name (given that this is a European site) then call it Project Zero, but FFS, just call it Zero, as that is its name. It will probably never leave Japan anyway.

@Moroboshi; because that's what it's known as in the west. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fatal_Frame#Fatal_Fra...

No, that's what its known as in America. In Europe, it's called Project Zero, which is rather closer to the actual title than the oddball American variant.

@Moroboshi In the Japanese version of the game when the player captures a spirit of the ghosts you'll see "FATAL FRAME" in English text in the top left hand corner of the screen. So, no big deal to having Fatal Frame as the title for this game seeing as that's what it is called in the States. Thanks for pointing it out though.

Moroboshi would like you to use the real English name.. not that fake American name.

Sorry guys, just following suit, as the rest of the previous games are under "Fatal Frame" in our database.

On a side note; I'm uploading another video creepy video. Can't play this game at night! lol

Just for the record, I'm not actually offended. Just playing around.

Japan, please buy the crap out of this game! We need it to succeed so that they localize it. They just dropped the ball on Bayonetta 2, but at least that was already getting a western release.

About the game

What's up?

droezelke @Moonwalker: I know hdr makes a difference. However, is it worth 1000+ euro's? (1 Hour ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX Yea that's sorta like turning up the "digital vibrance" setting in the Nvidia control panel. Without HDR we're just seeing more saturated colors. (6 Hours ago)
  • Sdarts
Sdarts If it was, that would be great as there would be no need to buy a HDR TV to watch HDR content as any SDR screen would be able to show HDR the same as HDR screens. I wish it was like that though. (8 Hours ago)
  • Sdarts
Sdarts Mostly what you can see is a richer color palette due to a wider color gamut and bloom/brightness. Though it's not the same, unfortunately. (8 Hours ago)
  • Sdarts
Sdarts You can see it here in both the "Nano Cell" and "HDR" sections on this LG TV: [url] It's still not the same as watching in person. SDR screens can't show HDR. (8 Hours ago)
  • Sdarts
Sdarts @Moonwalker: Yes, you can see a difference, but only on colors and bloom. It's the same type of thing that TV manufacturers use to describe what HDR is with images. same. (8 Hours ago)
  • Moonwalker
Moonwalker @droezelke: Trust me though, the phone camera photos are pretty representatitve of how they look here. (13 Hours ago)
