starting to like it abit more now that i've got my head around blocking and punching at the same time.

Still dont think its as smooth as FNR4 though

As usual, I find myself wishing the demo's for games like this did a better job of teaching you and giving you feedback. I'll never get into these kinds of games because I can't really justify a purchase for a game I'll spend most of my time learning rather than playing.

This is very reall the motion and all is as fast as in real life not like FNR4 slow and cranky

I played last night and I found it really enjoyable.

Heres my view on it:

The controls are solid. They are responsive and work really well. As someone who has been part of a boxing club for a year(It was a very stressful year, decided to let it out in boxing. It works, try it.), I thought it really captured the tactical thinking of the boxer. For example, Blocking and dodging until your opponent tires down, leaving their reflexes to gradually get worse and worse, then getting in and "making a dent in them" as a friend used to say.

My favorite guy to play as is Miguel Cotto, his reach is great and he is the sort of wiry person I can relate to myself as someone with a high metabolism and a liking for exercise.

I think, boxing fan or not, you should at least give this game a try.

I've played the demo many times now, and I still haven't been able to win a match. I just don't get it. It's really trial and error. More error though ;o)
Dodging is difficult as hell. Maybe I lack the reflexes, but still you have to be extremely fast and there does seem to be some input lag. My oponent never seems to have those problems. I would love to like the game, but this puts me off. I don't want to keep trying and trying while not knowing what I'm doing wrong. Strange game.

Is it just me or are the latest videos (and the demo) a lot less bloody then what we saw few weeks/months ago?

Dont get me wrong I am not seeking for the blood, it was one thing that bothered me a bit from FN4 there there werent any cuts or something, fighters looked in the last round like they did in the first.

And: Does anyone know if they again included the option to add you own face into the game by using the cam? I think that was really fun at FM4

About the game

What's up?
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX @KORNdog: Still very different. More like Diablo but the "game feel" is not as polished. Systems are more well designed, but I have to give it to Diablo when it comes to fit and finish. (1 Hour ago)
  • KORNdog
KORNdog @GriftGFX: like divinity? Better or worse? Might be one i dust off the xbox for. (1 Hour ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX The economy is unique and will probably seem strange to new players.. but every system is cleverly tied together in PoE. (2 Hours ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX And yes.. the passive skill tree is pretty insane. It has a healthy mix of rigid decision making in its passive tree and flexibility in the active skill system. (2 Hours ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX Path of Exile is an endlessly playable action RPG and Pillars of Eternity is a turn-based single player game w/ a party system. (2 Hours ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX No they are not.. they are both RPGs and they both have isometric cameras but that's where the similarities end. (2 Hours ago)
  • Tiz
Tiz I always confuse the PoE abbreviation with Pillars of Eternity. Are they even the same type of game? (2 Hours ago)
