Graphics were never too big a deal for me. As long as the art is solid, and the engine isn't a total embarrassment of itself, then I'll be fairly pleased.

Game looks fine and looked fine when I played the PS3 demo. I just wish S-E would stop with the low resolution pics and give us some 720p love. Oh well.

Why do the Japanese companies insist on releasing these tiny pics? There is no excuse for it in today's world.

LOL @ fanboys

This is called over-speculating. Oh my gosh! Lighting is looking to the left now! I guess M$ couldn't handle her looking straight ahead! And Snow's hand is in a different position! Holy Hell!

Forget the bullshots. Compare footage from the 2006 trailer and the current trailers and there is zero noticeable downgrade. People just want something stupid to rant about.

You should go through the digital foundry article base on the XIII demo, very interresting and hits upon why exactly the graphics may be reduced. Notably issues with the PS3 dealing with alpha effects (transparent textures etc), usually hair and explosions. It also has a nice frame counter to show where the framerate actually dips. My guess, is that if the downgrade turns out to be true, its purely down to the PS3 not dealing with the effects they want to put into play rather than any cross console issues.

Edit: Just to clarify, that is IF the downgrade is true, which there is only a couple of screens evidence for, nothing more.

Funny how people argue that nonesense, since the 360 version is a direct port of the ps3 version, and the 360 development began in april 2009.

How is that SQ-E downgraded the graphics of his most awaited and reliable game for this year whose development is almost finished on the ps3? They undone the work they achieved?? LOL

The answer to the downgrade is very simple: the images released in 2006/2007 were mere target render running probably on Pc. This game is in the works since 2005, that would explain the difficult to get the crystal tools running properly on the ps3 architecture and the time that has passed since they get ready a demo to show.

By the way, the demo running on xbox 360 at the e3 2009 (it was made two months before e3) looked more detailed and smooth than the ps3 demo disc included in the blu-ray disc of Advent Children...

The moment it was announced for the 360, the game received a significant graphical downgrade, or at least that's what people still hurting since the announcement that it was coming to the 360 will continue to tell themselves.

The real problem, though, is that a lot of folks can't bring themselves to admit that a lot of the early media from the game was either 100% doctored, or simply just CG.

I don't expect it to not be a visually accomplished game, however.

"Initial screenshots of the game may well look different to what we have now. This is part of the process of making the game - we have to get a feel for what the system can and can't handle - sometimes things are made better, sometimes things like the number of polygons on a model are reduced to make it more easy to display," he said, giving the reasons for the changes.

Watch the old demo vids on this site, the track they run along looks a lot diffrent than what it does now

And i'm no fanboy, I have both the 360 and PS3, I even use the 360 alot more because most of the 360 multiplat games look and run better.

Downgraded?, and yet... the 360 one will be the visually & performance-wise superior version, like almost all multiplataform games.

Funny world we live in.

Could it be that the "initial screenshots" were those prerendered screens they have shown years ago?

stop right there lol. the only accurate articles on DF are the framerate ones. all other ones dealing with rendering, programming, etc are a joke trust me. anyways the 360 version will likely be better because it's easier for SE's lazy devs. they surely won't take the time to write excellent streaming tech like ND or Guerilla would.

It was made on the PS3 first, I dout the 360 will look superior. It'll look identical on both consoles. The downgraded graphics will make it easier to port, which is probably why they did it
