First images of Darksiders

We forgot to tell you about the first images of Darksiders : Wrath of War, an apocalyptic and spectacular beat-them'all unveiled by THQ during their San Francisco's Gamers Day. Visually, it certainly looks promising. The game is planned to be released in early 2009 on Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.

Yeah looks good. Is it hack and slash ala God of War/Conan. If so it looks very nice and something i'd possibly buy

It's something about the world ending, and good vs evil or somethin' ... You play as one of the four horseman of the apocalypse.

Read the preview on gamespot - apparently it's pretty impressive - so I will be keeping tabs on this one!

Need to see gameplay obviously.
Screenshots can show one thing, but gameplay, animation, hit-detection can say somehting else.

So I will reserve my judgement until a gameplay video shows up.

I believe the term is "beat 'em up"

Any way, if the controls and combat engine are as tight and sharp as the graphics and art design this is going to be one sweet game. Looking forward to some more info.

EDIT: Touching on what Sath brought up, with graphics this good the animation is going to need to be top notch.

Crap, why are all games so damn grey and boring these days? Every new announced game looks the same to me, kind of. Thank Nintendo for still bringing some colour to the game industry...

Anyone else agrees?

Brown + grey + bloom = next gen (current gen technically, but devs still say next gen). Also, it must involve violence and have "extreme" or "epic" elements.

it is so strange the next gen consoles never had a beat em up!

about time we have a game similar to power stone or Super Smash bros!

Could turn out to be pure arcade fun!

*nvm, after checking out the videos it seems more like an action adventure, cool artistic take though*

Honestly, a big ass brawler romp would be killer right about now. This looks pretty cool, but unless the gameplay is right i couldn't care less. But hey, let's hope for good things here.

Pretty sure this is Joe Maduria's(sp?) game. He is/was a comicbook artist.
IF this is it , which it looks like it, you are WAR of the 4 horsemen and were stripped of power and gain them back as you go.

Either way. I want it.
