The new game from Koei/Tecmo Hokuto Muso releases today in Japan and the lightning quick DjMizuhara is offering you a video containing a beautiful introduction and the attract mode. The game is expected for a summer release. More videos coming later on.
Update : Added the first 10 minutes and two gameplay videos.

Even thought the AI looks as dumb as a plank I'm such a fan of the TV and movies I'll have to buy it.

Most badass fucking intro of all times :D

I wonder if the sluggish battle flow was because of the player or you're bound by end of attack animations. It looked really poor.... hoping for the best.

I really do think its a shame that the gameplay looks so bad, cause i kind of like Hokuto no Ken, and the concept is basically perfect for a fast paced action game. Now i haven't played it myself ofc, but from the video i get the feeling that the controls might not be very responsive and that is pretty much a dealbreaker for me. If we get it over here (Europe i mean) i might check it out, but i don't know, i'm have no high hopes for this one :(

Gameplay looks like crap to be honest,the camera looks awfull too,and not mention of the enemies AI.

Completely agree, it will play like poo and the plot is no different from the 30 year old series. Fingers cross Sega decide to do an RPG.

To begin with it's based on an old manga and anime that is close to 30 years old, and Kenshiro is just about as classic as a Manga/Anime characer gets i'd say. Mad max and Bruce Lee in one, how much more badass can you possibly get? :)

I'm not trying to defend the game but at least whine about the stuff that deserves it.

I don't think he is quite as gay as you want to make him out to be though. Perhaps the team developing this didn't really make the character justice and I mean...the hair? That's just how hair looks in all anime and manga :P

Dude the movie sucks balls, not to mention the horrible english dub :)
I mean...trying to shove 100 episodes worth of story in to a single movie is a pretty bad idea. Not saying that there isn't any filler in the series, but well...i think you get my point. And the dub sucks, can't take it seriously for a second with those cheesy english voices :P

I'll be picking this puppy up... gameplay looks fine to me, it's a brawler! Kenshiro is one of the slower characters until you unleash his flurries... but there are faster characters... i don't expect the AI to be amazing on the 1st level, you'd just get your butt kicked, plus they actually form formations and what not... thats pretty cool... looking forward to more vids of this game... the Musou series is an acquired taste i guess...

Looks like the same brain-dead AI in Gundam Musou. It was a fun distraction, for when you just want to kill 1000 random mooks when you've nothing better to do...but that doesn't look like a $60 purchase.

Damn shame, too. The two franchises were practically made for each other.
