Frogwares reveals The Sinking City

Frogwares reveals The Sinking City

Frogwares was initially the developer of the upcoming Call of Cthulhu game for Focus Home Interactive. It's no longer the case as you learned recently since Cyanide has been working on it for quite some time. But Frogwares didn't abandon their idea of an open-world investigation Lovecraftian game and therefore here is the reveal of The Sinking City. A screenshot and a couple of artworks inside for this title that is "bigger than what [the studio] ever made". The team will bring a demo version at GDC.

I wish them luck, looks and sounds interesting, good to see the little studios spreading their wings so to speak :)

I loved the hell out of that Call Of Cthulhu Dark Corners of the Earth game, the health system was insane and the chases were intense. I'd love another game along those lines.

Hard Rain with Christian Slater and Morgan Freeman comes to mind...

On my top three of the best games ever made.

Looks promising. Really hope they pull this one off.

About the game

What's up?
  • Moonwalker
Moonwalker @KORNdog: Speaking of Spiders, I finished Technomancer yesterday. Fun game but dragged down by WAY too much backtracking and lack of different locations. (8 Hours ago)
  • Moonwalker
Moonwalker @KORNdog: I'm not far enough into the game yet but I heard the game world is very interesting and full of great quests with multiple choices. Those kinda things sound great to me. (8 Hours ago)
  • KORNdog
KORNdog i honestly think they'd do better making something on a smaller scale. like an isometric action RPG. that spiders (developer) could do with going that direction too. (9 Hours ago)
  • KORNdog
KORNdog @Moonwalker: it just looks like a typical game from them to me. like they bit off more than they can chew and the results are just mediocrity across the board. (9 Hours ago)
  • Moonwalker
Moonwalker @KORNdog: the facial animations are bullshit yes, animations in general are passable, combat isn't nearly as bad as I expected though. The world so far has been great, very very nice indeed. (9 Hours ago)
  • KORNdog
KORNdog @Moonwalker: it still looks all kinda of garbage though. lol (9 Hours ago)
  • Moonwalker
Moonwalker tearing was horrible, not to mention loading times. Plus it really doesn't look too bad either. Trees and foliage swaying in the wind, nice lighting. Good job PB. course all the jank is still there :) (9 Hours ago)
