GC07: Naruto Rise of a Ninja

GC07: Naruto Rise of a Ninja

Naruto Rise of a Ninja will be one of the last few titles to get some images from the GC Press Kit, and it still doesn't look bad at all.

I love it....but isnt it weird playing the younger Naruto..knowing that the series are moving on with the older one?...The older characters in Shippuuden look great.

Well, outside of the world of fansubs, which are illegal, even if everyone including me watch them (I don't watch naruto anymore though), Naruto is still at the younger stage of the characters.

Aren't fansubs allowed in places that do not have the anime in question licenced? Maybe I'm wrong but I can't just stop watching One Piece. The only anime I still watch. Pirates FTW!

Thats true , Tho at the same time this part in the naruto series was kick-ass tbh and got everything rolling and since its the " genises " part of the show its obviously the first part to start of with any game.

I absolutely love the graphical style, but I've seen nothing to indicate the game itself will be any good.

I'm really looking forward to this game. The Naruto vs. Gaara fight is going to be awesome! A giant toad with a wakizashi vs. a sand demon.

I do wonder if you will be able to fight battles that Naruto didn't participate in. Like the Third vs. Orochimaru or Rock Lee vs. Gaara.

This game looks stunning. Hopefully it will play as good as it looks.
I think this could be a huge game for 360. Naruto is extremely popular in the US and the craze is just catching on in Europe so this could really shift a few console by pursuading anime fans to invest in a 360.

Third Hokage's fight could, if done right, be the most spectacular boss battle ever. It's one of my favourite fights from the entire series.

This game looks hella tight, I love the art design.

THis actually looks interesting. I might want to try this, and see if it plays out in the story as the anime does.

No they aren't legal even if the Anime isn't licensed in that country. And in the case of Naruto there aren't many countries where it's not licensed anyway ;)

Like.. Famitsu scans? People just don't respect/protect international copyrights in many countries. In the USA, it may be illegal, but people don't enforce it.. so people generally don't care. Hell, people host fansubs on divx.com's streaming site.. which is accessible in any region.

Man I can't wait for this game. Although I wonder how much of the game is based around that direct path running gameplay that we saw at e3?

I believe the FanSub communities have special permission, thanks to the licensing companies letting them.

On a fansubbing note, its illegal yet most companies choose not to enforce it as it creates an installed fanbase for a series and also gives them an idea of what to license.
There are some special cases such as Viz sending C&D letters to groups that were subbing Death Note, as they were competing with Viz's own subbed-only episodes they were selling for download.

Back onto the game, I believe this only goes upto the Naruto vs Garaa fight. I guess that leaves the door open for a sequel, which would be no bad thing.
Im also interested in the DL content for this. Ubisoft said there would be some new characters available for DL content along with some other stuff. Nice to see Ubisoft are really backing this game and realise the potential the Naruto franchaise could hold for them.

Those screens look great. I only hope the fighting engine is as intuitive as in the GameCube games.

As for fansubs, of course they're illegal. But so are mp3s. Welcome to the internets...

i'll be getting this game only if it includes the option to use the japanese voice cast. The english(american) voices are just plain awful.

is garaas sand coming out of his butt? just get a modded ps2 and get Narutimate ninja 3 or Naruto Accell, both have at least 35 characters and a nice story mode.. this game is too far behind to even matter..8 playable characters? pass for me.

the devs have said this game covers the 1st 80 episodes of the anime, which would take you up to the thirds funeral.

Ubisoft has already confirmed that you will be able to have the option to select the Japanese language track. Nice to know they are listening to the fans.

Firstly I wouldn't go around promoting console modding. Secondly the Japanese Naruto games simply suck ass apart from the GC ones which were average.
The fact that Ubisoft Montreal are developing this title makes this game 'matter' even if you do follow the fansubs and are watching Shippuuden.
