Xbox 360 PS3

Ubisoft haven't started officially releasing their GC stuff yet, but here are at least a couple of images from Far Cry 2. Or more precisely, the map maker in the console versions.

The custom map files will be relatively tiny and will be sent when you join the server.

this thing has got me all hyped up. it looks so damn easy to use. and before the PC mob jumps all over this saying they have it for years (I know we do, i've tried some) be reminded that they all fell like developers sdk and whatnot, and this feels like ...FUN!

I wonder if you can wok on a map cooperatively with a friend...now that would be fun!

Far Cry Instinct had one too.

Its very hard to make a playable and fair map since it looks like buildings etc are predefined (again), but still you can make cool fun maps...

Like race-tracks and shit.

supposedly you have 1000+ objects to use, that would be enough to make creative and cool stuff, no?

Found a video of this editor in action:
http://www.veoh.com/videos/v15610032DSsCgpWZ

This bad puppy is sweet. Beats the living snot out of Halo 3's Forge editor. And if you download the HD version of the video, you can see some of the menus clearly. Looks like there are a ton of options for every object imaginable.

Over 1,000 objects, with tons of options each. Should be able to create some quality maps from this one.

Just too bad its so freakin' limited in how many objects and stuff you can put on the map simultaneously, otherwise this would be a hella awesome editor. For a console game, that is.

As far as I know, it has a recommenced limit of 30,000 objects. But you can go over this until the game crashes if you want.
But I certainly wouldn't call 30,000 objects "freakin' limited". There is obviously a limit to how many objects the Xbox360, PS3, and even a high spec PC, can handle before you get seriously low FPS.

^ That video is incredible. I love playing on maps I don't know too well, and every time I go online it'll be like a new mission into uncharted territory. The end part of the video blew me away... it could easily pass as a single player level.

Well, I admit that I exaggerated a bit, but you're stretching the truth. Every object has a number value attached to them and that 30000 limit works like a currency.

That's what I thought, but in one of the videos it has the limit at something like 62,000/30,000 Which makes no sense if 30,000 is complete limit. Also IGN didn't say anything about a limit in there preview, Although I may have read that too quick and missed it.

theirs no limit as far as im aware, theirs a FPS limit, that you tweak as you drop into the FPS view, thats the top right bar,

all the bars at the top as far as i understand are guides ... i mean you can make a map all in the red FPS but it will play like sh*t and people will vote it accordingly.

also for those asking about sharing yes, when you go online and start the map, the others will download it and after the match be able to rate it... also their will be a leaderboard of the most liked maps etc
