Although there isn't much original about this game, the way everything has come together has me really pumped. It's like they took the driving/racing from Need for Speed, mayhem and vehicle combat from Just Cause, fighting from Batman, and shooting from Max Payne (albeit gimped a tad), and combined them all into one. Throw in the outstanding Hong Kong setting and I'm sold!

IGN just gave it an 8.5 and said the story was actually the highlight, which is surprising. I'm also really excited to play a game with great voice acting for once.

I think the thing that surprises me the most is the little details. Things like real time body damage when in combat, shooting out the tires of cars and causing crashes, destructible environments, tons of different outfits, customization, weapons, moves, and finishers in combat make this really interesting. Definitely the biggest surprise of the year, as I had no interest when it was a True Crime game. Still can't believe a game this complete and this deep got canned so late in development!

Personally i do not like the camera shake while driving and Wei also has some choppy movements, but overall its a pretty good game so far.

Agreed about the animation. I still can't believe with how good everything else looks, they allow the main character to run like he is taking baby steps with a stick up his ass. That is the one knock I have on the game, but I guess it can be overlooked with as good as everything else looks.

You could see that back when it was called true crime. He runs like a child.

I know, and I thought it was a placeholder animation then. I guess maybe they are trying to go for an anime style running or something, but it just looks out of place here.

About the game

What's up?
  • Moonwalker
Moonwalker @Sdarts: Yup. Oh and I can't forget to mention how dark it is, and that story, real nice. The dynamic between Jackman and Stewart was superb too. (6 Hours ago)
  • Sdarts
Sdarts @Moonwalker: I'm glad you enjoyed it. And yes, Wolverine in the comics was always bloody, savage and ruthless. Something the previous movies never did, probably to stay PG-13 - suitable for teens. (6 Hours ago)
  • Sdarts
Sdarts @digi_matrix: Looking very forward to it. But no spoilers please. Now I know I will most likely cry at the end. (Which is never a bad thing.) (6 Hours ago)
  • Sdarts
Sdarts @droezelke: No problem, in games like Edith Finch what's most important is story, characters and world settings. It's like movies or a very short TV show/mini series, gameplay isn't as important. (6 Hours ago)
  • Moonwalker
Moonwalker Oh and I loved the violence, yep. I never liked how there was barely any blood in the previous films, impossible when you have someone like Wolverine cleaning house. This is how it's done. (7 Hours ago)
  • Moonwalker
Moonwalker And I'm so glad I watched the previous X-men movies first, specifically the two Wolverine movies, otherwise some things wouldn't have made sense (7 Hours ago)
  • Moonwalker
Moonwalker Logan was absolutely fantastic. In terms of acting, emotion, character development it's in a different league than the other X-men movies. Fucking loved it. And man, Jackman is a boss! (7 Hours ago)
