EA and Crytek revealed the first multiplayer images of Crysis 2 at Gamescom, check them out. Update 2: 7 new screens added.
Crysis 2 Multiplayer Game Modes
Crash Site is a team-based game mode where 2 sides compete for control of Ceph Drop Pods launched periodically into the map by dropships patrolling overhead. Teams score points by guarding the pods and keeping enemies at bay.
Team Instant Action
Team Instant Action is a standard game mode pitting 2 teams against each other. Kill as many opponents as possible, whilst attempting to minimize your own deaths. Use the Nanosuit to sneak up on enemies in Stealth mode, or charge in and gun them down in Armor.
so it retained the photorealism of filmed footage, but you could still lean in and around and everything would shift with perspective. (46 minutes ago)
@KORNdog: I saw a few recent 360 cameras being advertised as VR cameras and they're 2D. I think 360 video is pretty cool in general though. (46 minutes ago)
sony did quite a cool thing with a violin solo guy where they filmed it all with 3D cameras. but then converted all the elements into a 3D scene running in unity. (47 minutes ago)
I can kinda imagine VR in something like Battlefield being pretty incredible too but I'm not sure how well that would work with most people's stomachs. (47 minutes ago)
@GriftGFX: yeah, i can't say i've seen any though. even the stuff on youtube is stereoscopic. it just requires a fixed head position. no leaning forward etc. (48 minutes ago)
it can even stay third person, seeing as bound and the playroom VR platformer work really well. apparently FROM are making something for VR now though. i'm hoping for a new kings field. (49 minutes ago)
