i know people complained alot that gears 1 didnt have a good (or any really) story, especially about the actual characters.but i hope this whole attempt to include an emotional and deep 'story' ,especially the maria thing, dosnt turn out to be lame and cliche'... i hope they hired some writer to do the story and didnt just try to do it themselves... because it could backfire if they fail to make you care,and no one gives a shit about maria and could become a real bore to watch in cutscenes, they need to do a good job of it if they r gonna include it in a game as hardcore as gears of war if ya get me. the story being lame is the only thing im worried about.

Sorry, I'm not buying into this supposed "deep story PR blabla" and that's fine. I know the gameplay and pacing will kick ass and that's all I want, and expect from Gears 2...

looks like everything a sequel should be. new destructible environments, major set pieces, more vehicles, new weapons, new enemies, improved visuals, more fleshed out story, new multiplayer modes. what more could you ask for?

Bigger, better and more badass indeed. This is Gears 2!! A friend of mine has the game, I´ve played the whole campaign mode (11 hours) with him and the game is TRULY AWESOME.

Graphics are much better this time: Incredible gigantic levels, insane level of detail (Believe me, insane level of detail), high amount of elements on screen: (a lot of enemies sometimes, a lot of effects, a lot of elements and constructions everywhere... You have to see it to know what I´m talking about)

You will see the most incredible level design and level of detail in some chapters. I´m in videogames since Nintendo nes, and I have never seen such a detailed, big and incredible level design like in Gears 2. I don´t know how the console can move that levels, without loading and with fluid and constant framerate allways.

The improvements of the Unreal 3.5 are here: Real time water phisics, better lighting, a lot of enemies on screen, destructible environments (columns, covers, and othes elements)... You will see all of that.

Battles are fucking amazing, they are truly EPIC, and the music helps so much to make the battle epic. It´s incredible to fight against Locust hordes and other big creatures like reavers, brumacs, corpsers and all the newcomers.

Music is simply awesome, a lot better than in Gears 1.

Story is nice, there are a few twists and things that make you say: what?? They have put emphasis on feelings this time. Very nice!

Cut scenes are very well done, better motion capture for sure this time.

First Gears is awesome for sure but Gears 2 is better than I could imagine. Can´t wait to have my copy at home^^

If you enjoyed the first Gears, I´m sure you wont be dissapointed with Gears 2. It´s the esence of Gears 1 but all upgraded and Epic.

imagine if you poured your heart and soul and hours of your life into making something only to have people steal it from you sat on there fat arses downloading an illeagal copy from the net. id be pretty pissed.

Yes, he has an ilegal copy but I can tell he has the game reserved too. We know perfectly the hard work behind a game like this, specially Gears 2, is a piece of art. Of course I´m not agree with piracy but what can I do? I´ve been waiting for this title since we finish Gears 1, I can´t say no to play it If he has the game... Plus, I know he has the game reserved (both reserved the game the same day and in the same place) so, It isn´t that bad at all.

There´s people who download A LOT OF games, I know a few persons like that, and they don´t have any original game. This is crap and they should think about it... but the friend I´m talking about is not like this, he own original games, he has over 20 original titles.

Sorry to bother you, I only want to share my opinion about the game, cause the game is incredible. Ah, by the way, of course you are free to believe me or not, but I wish you coul believe me. Piracy is a serious problem, I´m not here to joke about it.

If he got it from a torrent site then technically he's adding to the problem, buying or no. Plus you're losing the satisfaction of playing it legally on the day... what's wrong with waiting?

Hey, I´m not trying to justify him, I only saying that I know he will buy the game when it comes out. The kind of satisfaction you´re talking about is true, but you know... I think people who download games doesn´t mind that kind of satisfaction and don´t enjoy the games the same way than legal people. But this is his problem.
