Microsoft has just sent us this new Video Documentary of Gears of War 3, entitled Crescendo. The game will be out on the 20th of September, exclusively for Xbox 360.
did you guys see the last horde vid? they're doing so really cool things with it.. making it abit like a tower defence game. I was impressed.
I hope they actually push a decent narrative in this one for a change.. and not just have characters we've no connection to constantly die as an example of the story holding "emotion". I cant believe they had a paid writer on board (one thats won awards i think) for Gears 2
by far my most anticipated split-screen co-op game. not interested in multi or horde, or playing on my own, but for co-op this is gonna be a wicked rental

didnt like horde mode in gears 2, and while they've added some cool tower defense mechanisms. it doesnt really interest me. it'll be a 2 week rental for split screen co-op, that's all i care about really. same went for gears 2, didnt even play the single player. just blasted through co-op.
only survival/horde/firefight mode i've really REALLY enjoyed was zombies in WaW. firefight was decent too but nothing compared to zombies.

people have priorities. Most people tend to glorify Gear's Horde mode when the Co-Op should be and is still one of the best in the industry and should be played with friends. Look at uncharted, I always resell it after the weekend campaign walktrough, there is no replay factor and and the multiplayer is done better and it makes more sense to waste time in games as CoD, BF or Halo. So no reason to keep up.
This is the state of the industry, or you play strong on the online, or you are just a temporary distraction.

Never understood the comments about lack of story and connection to characters in Gears games. I very much got to know the general vibe of these characters from the first game and even found the second one emotionally impacting. Less is more but i think Epic know this very well themselves. To have a good time in a game i don't need to know what these characters had for tea that night or anything like some people want

yep.. gears definatly has the best co-op i've played.. so i'm expecting good stuff there. Never got into the deathmatch stuff before as i always get instantly owned by everybody using the overpowered shot gun roll technique, but i did really like the beta...and theres no excuse for this not being epics most polished game now.

The new ideas for horde mode 2.0 sound amazing and I have a lot of faith in this game being by far the best third person shooter on the market in terms of co-op gaming and multiplayer fun.

Horde doesnt have the set peices, epic boss battles (bigger and more bad ass then the smaller bosses they've added to horde 2.0) or pacing or story (what little there is) it just feels a bit throw-away to me, kinda like a multiplayer map with bots. Meh, Just prefer the campaign co-op. A fuller, more exciting experience imo.
