Because of some sort of internal team issue at Gamersyde, we have not been able to propose our review of God of War 3 so far. As we would not want to completely miss an opportunity to talk about the game, we managed to find you a bunch of images that should convince the most skeptical amongst you that the graphics and art direction are both top notch. The game is scheduled for release in about a week but you still have time to discover the first two episodes with God of War Collection, an excellent remastered version of the PS2 games.

Very amazing game, you can tell when game creators want to show us some hard and profesional work in a masterpiece. Not trying to throw anything what comes by hand into the market. That is why i like Sony and creators like Santa Monica studio. Keep up doing good things - entertaining us, but not waisting the time of our life. Applause!

I remember there was an article on the type of AA they are using... Has it been introduced after the demo? The demo was very jaggy.

yeah, the game looks freaking jaw dropping, but i knew that ages ago. i've said it before and i'll say it again, the kratos character model is one of the best i've seen EVER. drake is probably better seeing as he uses double the amount of polys (80k as opposed to 40k in kratos) but my god he looks impressive, as does the game in general. can't wait to play it.

wish they spend the same amount of effort in the envirenmonts wich lack a bit of design and quality, they did with kratos and some key enemys.

Well maybe its just not my genre...

I think maybe it's how much you look at the environment versus the characters maybe? The characters all look freaking fantastic to me. A lot of the environments, especially in terms of textures, start to look pretty muddy at times. But like many say about this game, when you consider all that is going on it's still a really impressive game.

It might not be in the same league as uncharted or killzone 2, but it still looks pretty good for the most part. But I do think that the die hard fans of the game tend to really get carried away with the graphical praise of this game, but we see that for all the exclusives anymore it seems.

The setpieces seem darker than the previous games so that's interesting. It might not be better than the first two games (the impression I get from the reviews) in terms of diversity and such, but it still looks like a very fun rollercoaster type game. Mabye just a rent due to being super linear, but still a blast no less.

This game trumps Uncharted 2 visually, IMO. The Scale, modeling and lighting are all top notch. Drake may have more polys, but I think Kratos uses the polys he has more efficiently, and that is more impressive to me. Personally I think KZ2 doesn't come near this game, but it's no secret how I feel about that smoke-and-mirrors-fest...

The demo doesn't look all that jaw dropping, but the same section in the final game has been tweaked to look noticeably better.

Apparently, most of the game looks beautiful, but there are some areas with lackluster visuals that clash with the rest of the presentation. I'm sure it will be damn impressive overall.

I didn't think the demo was that jaggy, but their new AA solution apparently uses the SPUs and is more efficient. DigitalFoundry has an article up comparing the demo to the final version and it is damned impressive. Sony Santa Monica upped the detail and effects while increasing overall framerate.
