And it won't be possible to mod it in because then he would have to create all the interiors.
Screenshots: i don't like the over saturated filters and bloom effects.
Boooooooooooooooooooooo
They don't need cockpit for arcade game, 90% of people do not even use it
Anyhow, it's still booooooooooo from me.

If anything these latest batch of serious games which are in development are showing that they are being held back because of aging console hardware.
No Cockpit = No buy!

The meh is strong in this one.
So how do we know that the "90%" are real and not a fake? No onw will know the truth.
So, to me it looks like that they try to milk their IPs as fast as possible. Dirt after Dirt (Dirt 2 was the much better game in terms of presentation and variety). Suddenly Dirt Showdown comes out (a spin off and I'm sure they will make a series out of it) and out of nowhere a GRID 2 announcment, even though they said that they "have no plans to work on GRID2 right now" a couple of weeks ago.
Seriously, are you kidding me...
They scrapped the cockpit view to make the game less cost intensive. that's all. I'm not impressed by the graphics either. GRID2 and Dirt 2 had great graphics but c'mon...we don't need another games which looks exactly like any of their other games before (except for Dirt 1), only with different cars and tracks. And two or three new game modes are not worth 60$...
I will see what GRID2 will bring. No cockpit sucks, that's for sure. I don't believe what they said about the cockpit view.

I think the graphics look great, and I have read it will have some of the best damage modeling ever seen in a game. The physics should also be top notch as far as semi arcade/semi realistic racers go, with the engine taking more than twice as many samples per second than Forza or GT5. With the fact that they have been working on this thing for 4 years, I think they should have this thing super polished.
I'm still not overly hyped, but when Gamesradar (the only preview I have read who have actually played it) claim it has the potential to be one of the best arcade racers EVER, I take notice. I think the lack of assists is great as well, as too many racing games focus on people following colored lines around the track. Here is the preview I am referring to, if there is anyone who hasn't already made up their mind:

Although I agree with everyone's complaint about the lack of cockpit view, I am still cautiously optimistic about this one. Besides, cockpit view is great, but I don't consider it an absolute requirement for semi-arcade racers. No one complained that burnout didn't have cockpits
if you're a full blown arcade game, outrun, burnout, motorstorm, blur, split-second etc, then no cockpit view is fine.
if you're trying to be something even marginally sim-based, then it's a requirement imo.
