Hail to the Chimp announced

Gamecock and Wideload Games (Stubbs the Zombie) today announced a new Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 game, Hail To The Chimp. The game will be released next spring, and seems to be as crazy as Stubbs was. Quoting press release: "Jump into the biggest political race the animal kingdom has ever witnessed and battle all competitors head-to-head. Do you have what it takes to be King of the Jungle?". First images and trailer inside.

Yeah, that's what the game industrie needs,
some new and crazy, but funny game concepts!
Gonna inform me more about that, also about "Stubbs",
didn't know that one.

That looks..... crap

Reminds me of the Powerstone rip-off Tom & Jerry game

Sometimes games just seem created on auto-pilot. "Next gen" sure didn't help stylized games, either, the extra pressure to use fancy effects just adds layers of slime.

Monkeys are over-rated!

I guess it has a sufficient eye candy for Spectrum graphics.
...
Ouch, it`s already 2007. Those devs were in a deep big bear sleep somewhere in the Ptolemy cave [rolleyes].

i agree....im glad companies are at least looking for different art styles other than super realistic as they can get....

The sound sample for the camera snapshot sounds exactly like the one used in Pilotwings on the N64... I'm not a geek, honestly :)

Anyone else think it looks like they just applied a load of photoshop filters in those pics? (Crosshatch, reticulation...)
Commented on 2007-06-25 20:15:56
They apply those photoshop filters in realtime, you can see in the video. ;-) I think it looks cool, very stylish.

Gameplay looks pretty weak though.

kind of reminds me of Cel Damage... Might be OK for an XBLA title.

I've never played Super Smash Bros. Does it look something like that?

I'd have to say no! The Wii version would tear this a new sphincter.

The direction (but not the style) they are going with the NPR shaders is cool, shame the actual character design and gameplay look like pants though... :S

No joke. I'm sick of everything going for realistic, we need more strangely stylized games like this and No More Heroes and Katamari

Seems simple yet fun, though the environments could use a little more stuff (things to throw & take advantage of when fighting).

Fascinating that this comment is made here on this game rather than on the latest Madden or NFS or what have you. I'm not the biggest fan of the style, but I'm pretty sure that "autopilot" isn't the term that should be used here...

Is this a downloadable game? If so, that might explain the "none too dazzlin" graphics.

NEwho, think I'll wait LittleBigPlanet for my cutesy fare.

Personally, the art style remind me of Ooga Booga on the Dreamcast, especially those dudes in masks on the bridge!

Oh yeah, new here by the way, so hi!

Been browsing this site for the last year or so, but decided today to muck in with the posts!
