Some how SF gets even weirder, thanks Ono for making SF into a joke...

I love it...that is some really weird and sick shit but hilarious. Losing to this guy is automatically way more humiliating than usual, like getting violated somehow in the process...

What's almost as funny is how seriously some people want to take a cartoony videogame, which has always had a flair for the bizarre (Blanka? Dhalsim?) This new character is completely in the same spirit that brought us the weirdos of the older games.

Just so it clear, I'm not disliking Hakan as a character his concept is great, it's the ultras that are so stupid and the borrowed moves from other characters which make him uncreative

One of the more inspired SFIV characters if you ask me. Silly? yes, but at least it's not another goddamn shoto guy :P

What role does Dan serve anymore now? This is the ultimate shame to lose to

So another character just as ridiculous is gonna help?

When a character looks stupid next to green beastmen and such, that's saying something. XD

I maintain that SF has always had shitty characters, either they are retarded or musclemen in karate gis with torn sleeves, with SF3 being the most diverse and interesting cast.

Which is why this character pisses me off, SF3 had a great cast and then SF4 has guys like El Fuerte and Rufus? Come on...

Forget the whole oil thing, WTF is up with his hair?? Or is that some kind of helmet?

Aside from this new wacky character this game looks amazing, that has to be on a pc which I know what I am buying it for now.

Damn straight, I would have picked Alex over Hakan any day!

Ok, so I get that he's an oil wrestler, and they've exploited that to make for a weird fighting style and comical supers and ultras (which I'm not sure I like or not) but what the hell is with the red skin and blue hair? Blanka is a jungle freak: therefore green, dhalsim comes from India therefore brown, Seth bio-engineered: purpley-blue (I'm guessing for a kind of armour plated look perhaps?) but this guy... He's got bad sun burn and his hair was bitten by a snake.

This isn't really a big deal but the street fighter IV logo is awesome, really well done. But the giant super sign, urgh... Looks like word art.

OK so not the perfect rendition but you can see where I'm coming from on this one: http://www.flickr.com/photos/48110475@N06/44275492...

people complained about the "Super" logo when it became apparent it was official when the box art was released. If you haven't seen the box art I apologise now.

About the game

What's up?
  • Moonwalker
Moonwalker @KORNdog: Speaking of Spiders, I finished Technomancer yesterday. Fun game but dragged down by WAY too much backtracking and lack of different locations. (2 Hours ago)
  • Moonwalker
Moonwalker @KORNdog: I'm not far enough into the game yet but I heard the game world is very interesting and full of great quests with multiple choices. Those kinda things sound great to me. (2 Hours ago)
  • KORNdog
KORNdog i honestly think they'd do better making something on a smaller scale. like an isometric action RPG. that spiders (developer) could do with going that direction too. (4 Hours ago)
  • KORNdog
KORNdog @Moonwalker: it just looks like a typical game from them to me. like they bit off more than they can chew and the results are just mediocrity across the board. (4 Hours ago)
  • Moonwalker
Moonwalker @KORNdog: the facial animations are bullshit yes, animations in general are passable, combat isn't nearly as bad as I expected though. The world so far has been great, very very nice indeed. (4 Hours ago)
  • KORNdog
KORNdog @Moonwalker: it still looks all kinda of garbage though. lol (4 Hours ago)
  • Moonwalker
Moonwalker tearing was horrible, not to mention loading times. Plus it really doesn't look too bad either. Trees and foliage swaying in the wind, nice lighting. Good job PB. course all the jank is still there :) (4 Hours ago)
