Halo 2, still alive

Halo 2, still alive

Halo 2 has been released way more than 2 years ago now, but is still one of the most played games on Xbox Live. So it's rather logical that MS keeps released "new" content for the game with these 2 maps named Desolation and Tombstone, to be released on April 17.

This is only for 360 owners though right?

Cant believe M$ would do this to core Xbox owners.

Why wouldn't it be available to normal xbox owners? =/

well, there are trying to push sales and what better way to do it than this?

i was hoping for a major graphical improvement but it still looks beautiful considering its still using the same Halo 2 engine and not the full fledge Halo2/3 engine

No, both maps will be available for original XBox and 360 owners (when they originally announced new maps, that wasn't the case). The details are in the press release on the Bungie web site.

A couple of remakes for a three year old game that are going to cost? Think i'll pass.

It's more the principal of it than the cost, i think i'll spend my time on the Halo 3 beta than a couple of remaked maps for a three year old game which cost thanks.

OMG, Hang Em High is BACK!!!! Now all we need is a remake of Chillout!!

Hang 'Em High is back! Maybe now we can get some peace from all the whiners who wanted it in Halo 2.

And is it just me, or do some of the textures look, too hi-res for an Xbox game?

Edit: And these will be available for both Original Xbox and Xbox 360 gamers.

Hang em High was the king of all maps. I really hope that Bungie does a remake of Hang em High for Halo3. It was so fun playing two vs two with the linked consoles. Man, talk about memories. My five year old son was a beast at the game.

I'll play them if they hurry up and release this before the Halo 3 beta. I just put Halo 2 in for the first time in two years (!) and man was that a wake up call. I am not red E.

What's up?
  • SimonM7
SimonM7 Yeah, you have had netflix for ages too. We got Zune Marketplace now though and can finally rent stuff on the 360. The points system on the 360 is retarded when you wanna rent a movie though. (6 Hours ago)
  • Phaethon360
Phaethon360 It's been in the US for a while. (6 Hours ago)
  • SimonM7
SimonM7 Destructoid was talking about a video rental service on the PS3. Has that launched in europe yet? If so, is it only accessible in select countries? (7 Hours ago)
  • SimonM7
SimonM7 Yep. Kinda disappointing considering this was Oshii's contribution (of Ghost in The Shell fame), I honestly expected a lot better. (8 Hours ago)
  • dcdelgado
dcdelgado @SimonM7: yYeah did not like the art style but i lovd the way they dig into the halo lore and not concentrate on the cheif or spartans all the time, Babysitter is still my fav though. (8 Hours ago)
  • Doom_Bringer
Doom_Bringer just finished Dragon Age this evening. Overall another Bioware hit but the story is a little too simple...no big shocks like KOTOR here. Your choices really do matter big time though. GOTY 8.7/10 (8 Hours ago)
  • SimonM7
SimonM7 Yeah the art style ended up looking like utter garbage. The music saves the drama some though. (8 Hours ago)
