800 bucks for 4 Multiplayer maps? Nice, next time try a little & modest new race for multiplayer, till then the game is dead with so little races.

You can't just add a race to Halo. :O

Besides, depending on what leader you choose you do get a pretty significantly different experience, and there are six of them.

Didn't stop them bending the fiction slightly to put the flood in!

You have to admit, it's pretty bold pricing for an RTS. They've conditioned FPS players to the kind of nonsense already, but look at a game like Dawn of War 2. How many maps will Relic wind up adding for free? Eight? Ten? I'm not sure.. but if There is only War doesn't cost $10--this sure as hell shouldn't.

Oh yeah, I wasn't commenting on the maps, just the notion that you could shoehorn in *new races* into Halo at this point.

Deft; yeah, I felt that was a little bit of a copout, but at least it's explained somewhat satisfactory why nobody knows about the flood despite this encounter.

Really, the only kind of DLC for Halo Wars that would get me proper excited are new campaign scenarios. When I first heard about "Historic Battles" that's what I thought that was; new standalone scenarios based on "famous" battles in Halo lore. Not necessarily a full coherent campaign, but simply new scenarios to beat and perfect.

Those are some pretty horrendous screenshots.

Is it just the new maps, or did Halo Wars really look that mediocre?

lol so true..
I can imagine Dawn of small-squad-War 3, being released with 2 multiplayer maps (1 of which is a pre-order bonus) and a 6 hour campaign mode. lol

The game is everything ... But not dead.

80.000 + gamers per day (stats on halowars.com) are pretty much.

Everyone whining about the 800 points: don't buy it and that's it. In my opinion the price is okay - not a bargain, ya, but it is still okay.

btw. I already bought it and the maps are pretty good - especially the 3 vs 3 map is awesome!

I was refering (dead) to me. I barely find excuses to play multiplayer, and the lack of races is jut a big problem for me. Even more the lack of playable races in campaign.

play the campaign, then you can discuss.
sure there are some maps lacking more than others, but its one of those rtss that tries it all: indoor, outdoor and excells in unit animation/physic in the (console rts) genera. Its a pleasure to se Iconic Halo universe characters done with care.

i really enjoyed the demo of this game. but when it came to playing the full game i just couldnt get into it, i got a little past what the demo offered and just didnt feel compelled to go on any further.

i have a feeling these have come a little to late for anyone to even care tbh.

I Love this game, but wait from DLC some off-line missions whith story and action. IMO 99% DLC is just whant stool my money.

Especially with all the different challenges they have on missions they can make a few that would last a long time. Co-op really makes a huge difference too, and difficulty settings obviously.

When I first played Halo Wars through I thought it felt a bit short, but if there's one thing decidedly Halo about it apart from the obvious, it's that it's very, very replayable and dynamic.

Well, those achievements weren't hard. :P Maps seem more interesing than some of the stock ones at least. I hope enough people get them so that I can actually play them in MP. Though TBH, I spend just as much time in Skirmish practicing against the AI as I do against real people. So I guess I'll get some good use out of them.

One thing I would like from this game is some more Campaign missions. Felt like there was an opening for it left there at the end of the game. But maybe its just that classic Halo cliffhanger: "I think we're just getting started"
