Xbox 360

Microsoft and the now defunct Ensemble Studios released this third viddoc about Halo Wars, this time trying to go into details about the how and why of the control scheme.

Will be buying this, liked the demo and i was in fact surprised by how good the controls were. But it didnt exceed my expectations as he wished. Its just like "an rts that works on a console", thats it.

Judging from the demo of course, but it didnt feel like an AAA must-have game, it just felt like an rts that works on a console.. I guess its up to Halo Wars 2 or other games to build upon this control scheme, and actually make an amazing GAME underneith it as well. :)

Yea this game does look fun and all, but not AMAZING in the same sense that other games were (non-rts, if we are talking console games).

I'm really looking forward to this, the demo was a lot better than I expected, and I'm a huge Halo fan.. The controls work great, the cut-scenes are beautifully done and the universe is just perfect for a game like this.

It's definitely nothing revolutionary, but it will help shake off the stigma of console RTS games.

Ensemble last game... but it's gonna be awesome!

@those who had played the demo: is there an "attack move" order/button in the game? As in you push a button at a point on the ground and your forces will attack any and all foes in said area?

I don't know if there is a "Paint" all the area to attack ( all the foes in it ), because I just use the ( X ) to attack each unit , and ( Y ) to lauch grenades our Ram the vheicles. More babysitting, but more effective.

It's a strange acheivement, this game. You can't say there is something really new in the gameplay, but the flow is action-packed and never troublesome. People just need to spend more time with the full version to get a grip with the more complicated controls, there is still stuff I need to learn ( creating groups ) and the tutorial didn't explain.

Well, the units attack on their own, so in a way everything is attack-move.
For example, when giving simple move commands, your infantry, warthogs/ghosts and tanks, even aircraft will turn to attack while moving.

One more thing: when one of your squads loses members to enemy fire, is it possible to get new squadmates for the same squad, making it full strength again?

Other thing is: My "Hero" unit died in the battlefield, and he stayed there "dead", like somehow I could use something to revive him, but I didn't know how.

I've had a lot of fun with the demo so far and the graphics were actually better than I expected. Maybe I'll pick it up after I finish RE5 and Killzone 2 next month.

Off topic- The guy that's using jesuschrist as his posting name should really create a new account to use. It's very offensive and inappropriate to use that as your name.

Well, That was what I wanted to know, thank you! Or not quite... can you "replenish"(spelling) lost squadmembers?

This game looks pretty awesome and is a nice change from all the modern warfare RTS's (WiC, AoW, etc). It already seems better than CnC3 or RA3, which probably isn't that hard to do :p
