I wonder if the episodic nature is working for this game, or if it is just slipping more and more under everyone's radar. Or maybe, a new episode means new coverage every month.
So how is this game going? Do anyone have any rough numbers?

How about playing the game for yourself and see. Its not that deep of an issue. Its a video game that has full game episodes/DLC that extends the life of the game and allowing the Devs to further optimize the engine and code. As has always happened and will continue to happen.

This episode has some fucking horrendous framerates on PS4. Crowds are all well and good but they cripple performance. Sapienza was so much more polished.

Actually i was referring more to the economic side, if the episodic schedule is really doing good to the game from a sales point of view.
Personally I never liked Hitman very much, but even if I did, I would wait for the "complete package" once everything has gone out and problems have been solved. Waiting for every extra mission/episode cuts my interest in the long term.
I was just wondering how many other people were doing the same reasoning, and if it would have been better (from a sales point of view) to just polish everything and sell the complete adventure.

I am doing that same. I was so excited (nostalgia) when FF7 remake was shown. Then when it was announced it was going to be episodic I basically just lost all interest. It's just a way to force digital distribution and incrementally fund development to stop resales which I do after I beat a game that I will never play again once completing it.

its a shame that its a one off episode, as in even if you manage to complete it, you cannot replay it again - at least give the that option as a reward for players successfully doing it...

About the game

What's up?
  • KORNdog
KORNdog so it retained the photorealism of filmed footage, but you could still lean in and around and everything would shift with perspective. (50 minutes ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX @KORNdog: I saw a few recent 360 cameras being advertised as VR cameras and they're 2D. I think 360 video is pretty cool in general though. (51 minutes ago)
  • KORNdog
KORNdog sony did quite a cool thing with a violin solo guy where they filmed it all with 3D cameras. but then converted all the elements into a 3D scene running in unity. (51 minutes ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX I can kinda imagine VR in something like Battlefield being pretty incredible too but I'm not sure how well that would work with most people's stomachs. (52 minutes ago)
  • KORNdog
KORNdog @GriftGFX: yeah, i can't say i've seen any though. even the stuff on youtube is stereoscopic. it just requires a fixed head position. no leaning forward etc. (53 minutes ago)
  • KORNdog
KORNdog it can even stay third person, seeing as bound and the playroom VR platformer work really well. apparently FROM are making something for VR now though. i'm hoping for a new kings field. (54 minutes ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX Getting annoyed at people marketing 2D 360 video as "VR" though.. that's not good enough. It's cool, but it's not good enough. (55 minutes ago)
