Video PS4

We found the E3 gameplay demo of Horizon: Zero Dawn with a slightly better bitrate than the one we shared back in June. So, to anyone interested in that, jump inside. For tech enthusiasts and others you can also take a look at the game's real-time volumetric cloudscapes here.

Game is looking awesome! Have never liked or been a fan of any of Guerrilla's games, but this looks like a great place to start.

One of my most anticipated titles of 2016.

Looks beautiful, world building and story really good (love the overgrown skyscrapers) but the monologue needs work.

I think it just needs to be straight up removed. I've never understood games that have a constant inner monologue. You create this beautiful looking compelling experience, only to beat me to the punch every time when I'm supposed to react, act and respond to certain things.

The primary offenders I can think of right now are this, Tomb Raider, and to a lesser extent, Batman. I've also heard that the Witcher does this quite a bit as well.

It's not a deal breaker for me though, worst comes to worst, I'll just mute her.

The witcher and batman both do it mainly in the context of investigations, clues or following tracks. The player doesn't know what a scratched tree was causes by, whether it was a wolf. Or a bear. Or a lycan, or a nekka. Nor does he know that the scent that lingers in the air is comprised of berries and honey. So the characters relay the info back to the player. This is in-game speech done well.

Tomb raider is like drake. Another good example imo. It's used as a mean to direct the players attention without an obnoxious arrow above your head. "Maybe i need to climb that wreckage" it's character thought in most cases. And in the case of drake, whitty remarks about his surroundings. Tomb raider misses the mark a bit because she's a whiney little bitch and falls back to moaning far too often.

This however....well it just does it wrong. It's relaying redundant information to the player. Stuff you're doing, or have just done. Some of it is fine, like directing your attention to weak points. But it's too relentless. It's a barrage of incessant yapping. It's annoying for a completely different reason to lara and her whining. It's equivalent to someone talking to you while you're trying to watch a movie. Just shut up already.

On the plus side. I hear it was just for demo purposes.

Oh, and this games volumetric clouds are fucking ridiculously good looking.

Looks ok, tbh I'm funny with games, I'm more modern day or sci-fi setting I don't usually like games that look to be set ages ago or these post apocalyptic futures where you just use bows and arrows etc but this looks to be a mix of both specially when she can use the robots guns for a period of time.

Graphics look hit and miss but that is what this dev is like with all their games, shadow fall had fantastic looking sections but those that were inside buildings looked crap and so did the ingame characters and textures on trees etc

In this trailer the city sections before they were destroyed look pretty dyre but the plants and trees further into the trailer (in the future) look great.

Hilariously wrong about killzone in so many ways, lol

Gameplay complaints i can accept. But graphics are the one thing they do amazingly, it's still one of the best looking titles this gen and it's a launch title. Lol.

This game, much like scalebound just seems like a pretty poorly done mix of styles. I really liked the game enslaved but this uses a very similar theme but with seemingly less charm. But there isn't much shown so far so maybe that will change.

As for the graphics, it looks great but nothing mind blowing. Shadow fall looked great most of the time but it's outdoor areas looked a bit muddled at times. But in terms of basic narrative and gameplay mechanics GG has always struggled, basically making pretty games with not much substance. I'm worried this will be the same thing again.

Please... Shadowfall still wipes the floor with the vast majority of not only console games but PC games as well. I have had it running right beside games running on a GTX780 HOF many times. Artistically and technically it stands above most. If you want to complain about textures, Killzone 2 was definitely a victim of horrible, horrible textures because of technical limitations. I bitched about it all the time. Shadowfall not only looked amazing, it used AA to great extent and always seemed to run between 40 and 60 fps if you didn't have it locked to 30.

very nice presentation, great vistas and awesome mech designs. the landscapes look vibrant and similar to the Witcher 3. the characters in this video was the only thing that didn't totally blow me away. i will say though for a large scale game the characters are pretty well detailed enough.

Killzone ShadowFall still looks better than most of the next-gen games even after 2 years (first showed at Feb 2013, so already over 2 years)

Game looks utterly stunning. Totally awesome we are getting open world rpgs that look this good. I would say it looks more impressive than Witcher 3 on a technical level.

Shadow Fall does not look good, I completed it 3 weeks ago for the 2nd time and graphically it's horrible now. Sections of it looked good but the majority of it does not stand up to todays standards and Ryse on Xbox launch wiped the floor with it.

This Horizon looks good reminds me of Heavenly Sword meets TLOU

More to graphics than the amount of pixels ;)

Technically for the times i actually think Killzone 2 was better than Shadow Fall.
