I believe they also added extra content and refined the gameplay mechanics. I've been wanting this game for so long. Only a couple weeks left.

They've been adding tons of content as free downloads to the Japanese version.

Just recently they put up a few extra contents that cost money (a new Australia course and 2 new characters, if I'm not mistaken). However, this is stuff they could have added after the US release too.

Looks to be the first golf game I'll play since Outlaw Golf. The characters look awesome.

I've been waiting for this for sometime too. A little antsy considering that it's a new developer in charge.

Has anyone seen ratings for this from other markets? It would kinda help me decide now if I'm gonna get this or not.

I own the Japanese version (minna no golf 5), the biggest complaint I've heard from people, and I agree somewhat is there's somewhat less content than previous games, and the unlocking extras systems weren't nearly as cool.

They've pretty much redesigned all the characters as well, something they have done for every Hot Shots Golf localization.

I agree about the extras. It was a let down compared to the PSP version. No more cool accessories to collect, only clubs, balls, costume colors and extra caddies partners. I loved all the different outfits on the portable version.

I suck at the new sytem, and sometimes the games forces you to use it. Sometimes it forces you to play with a female or male character as well iirc (been some time).

That said, the game is still top notch golfing, and i had a great time playing it.
