Rockstar isn't shy to pack its Grand Theft Auto IV with subliminal mockeries destined to the different actors of the videogames industry, one of which being Nintendo. The series never missed arrogance, but if you wish to be persuaded of this fact, there's a worthy image after the jump.

Actually, now that I look closer the fat balding blonde guy with a mustache is rather mario-esque, and that is a MUSHROOM cloud... so maybe.

The Hulk Hogan looks a fair amount like the Jumpman / Mario in Donkey Kong and Mario Bros (non-super), or regular Mario in SMB1.
Any clue what year this one is set it? looks modern.
This game looks like it oozes atmosphere
the graphics look like they did get better, yes. the gun model looks great considering that the past gta's gun models looked like they had melted textures on them. i like the attention to detail in it. i like too how the districts in this game have the proper residents that would be living in that certain area. like in this screenshot how theres an asian man in the background in what appears to be chinatown (not intending to sound racist there). i think with all this detail in the game i expect that its going to be something amazing
Leave it up to gamers to read for to much into something without meaning.
One of the most important things is that the world feels alive. The way the characters interact with you and eachother, the density of the population on the streets, the interactivity with the environments (i.e. entering buildings) etc.
That's what I'm looking forward in seeing in some gameplay footage!
