How incredibly average. I wasn't expecting a Gears, but certainly more than this. At the moment it looks no better than God Of War 2 running on a PS2. I don't know if that says more about GoW2 or DMC4.
The lighting in the outside bits really look awesome....i don't know what it is exactly its hard to explain, but it actually looks like the sun in shining, this game has it, halo 3 has it but many other games don't. The snow levels aren't the greatest looking, but definately looks great all round. Never played a DMC game before, but i love these type of games so i'd say i'll be getting it.

It's just proper use of HDR lighting, more games have it.. And Halo 3 will have it too I bet..
nice sharp texturs but the poly count on the ice worls specifically look low, Is this a 60 fps? In which case that would explain he low poly count. As for using GOW as a yard stick , its not that great, very repetative style. Halo 3 wil undoubtedly be a dissapointment for all the fanboys out there, graphics ar not coming in at 1080p 60 fps, and iif they did you would all complain about how there was not much detail, shadr stuff and no gold bar in the box.
Does ANYBODY at this site even care about gameplay? Yes the game looks incredible but nobody seemed to notice that the fighting style system from DMC3 makes a return. In one of the screenshots you can see Nero is using the swordmaster style. Pretty cool.
I think the game looks gorgeous, but I'm a little suspicious of some screenshots. Dante's model clearly looks more detailed in the shots that he's wearing the red trench coat. Just look at his forearms and clothing in shot #18 and compare it to shot #3 and #2 which show closer views of Dante.

Same here also. Zomoniac this awesome game was done on the dead rising engine so no problem for me with the graphics. u could see that the game look awesome. and i don't even have to tell u about the game play movies and cut scenes . which by the way "if they are done the same way it was done on DMC 3 then MY GOD this is game is going to be hot fire. so Zomoniac wake up dude cause u really need to.
one thing that bothers me is that we see the same type of enemies all the time, and they look pretty stupid also. But I'm sure Capcom will include some different/cooler enemies

Looking at pics 41 and 42.. can you say lack of video RAM? Compared to Gears that looks like its done on a machine with half the vram available. Which btw isnt necessarily untrue as we dont know how much the excellent streaming engine in Gears allocates to textures out of the freely available 480MB on the 360.
The only DMC game i've ever played was DMC3 on pc.
Erm... not exactly played it -> couldn't get that bogus port to work on my pc!
DMC4 will be a very nice game and will hopefully play excellent on my 360.

I wouldn't say it's REALLY close, but IIRC, someone (from Capcom) has said that DMC4's release date would be sometime in August (which is only a few months away, but it's not close in a sense that it will be released next week or anything).

Apples and oranges.. better off comparing it to Dead Rising or Lost Planet. I actually think it looks pretty good, personally.. certainly does not look like a PS2 game like some people have suggested (yet, people keep on saying that about new games..).
