Midway are also at the Gamer's Day, showing their upcoming action-slowmo title Stranglehold. The main character seems to have got a facelift, hopefully we'll have some more AA before the release.
Update: Added the trailer of the PS3 collector edition of the game, with a Hard Boiled Blu-Ray disc as a pack-in!

As has been the case for about a year, whenever I see Stranglehold I think it looks very, very nice but very, very jaggy. Like you say, here's hoping for some AA to sort this out. It looks like it has tons of promise.

Kewl stuff. Stranglehold is one of the games I look forward to. I hope it can deliver what it promises - An enjoyable actiongame in the likes of MaxPayne. Simple promise but so hard to get just right...

Weird, the environment in the first pic looks like an exact copy-paste from GOW..

Must be the engine, good pics though, looking forward to it.

This game showed have given us a demo. It has been a announced so long ago and really is not doing anything too improve. Look at dark sector it was announced just before this and they completely changed the game.

Looking good. I hope for some good demo soon. This is one of the games I have to buy even if it gets bad reviews. Chow Yun-Fat FTW!

So has this game finally got a release date yet or is it still TBA even with this announcement of a collector's edition?

once again, AA is a post process, screenshots wont show it, hell, settingthe game up to use the 360s tiling to get 4xFSAA is probably one of the last things they do

Bzzzt, that's totally wrong. AA is not a post process, and it's definitely something that has to be included in the game early on since it requires tiling. And tiling is anything but something you can plug in an engine at the last minute.

Nice, that is pretty good content for a CE of a game and it fits the meaning of the game itself. Still i am getting this game for the Xbox 360 so it would be nice it they could do a Game DVD + HD-DVD CE combo.

But its mostly the game i am looking forwared to, so the would only be a minor bonus to me.

Hard Boiled in high definition. mmm. With the time it was shot in mind, cannot imagine the picture quality will be better then DVD. A exceptional movie though and a perfect addition to this game.

If I can remember correctly bigger resolution can be achieved from those films which movies are recorded than what DVD can support so Blu-Ray movie should look better.

AA or not, these pictures are horribly compressed and distorted, or they have a horrible method of capturing screenshots. this is one of those very very rare instances where i actually believe the game will end up looking much better, cleaner on your screen at home.

This game has always been a little different. Cool.

About the game

What's up?
  • Melmoth
Melmoth @Tinks: they started screwing over some of their long time 2nd party partners like Argonaut and (to a degree) Rare. (3 Hours ago)
  • Tinks
Tinks during the 64 era Nintendo at least had Rare in their prime, but it was the start of real painful gaps in content. (7 Hours ago)
  • Tinks
Tinks if you skipped the 64, Gamecube and Wii you may not feel their software issues the same as others. From what they've shown so far they've done little to correct their previous console issues. (7 Hours ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX I don't think Nintendo can or will fit the mold he expects them to though. They never have, really. (8 Hours ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX Jim always presents a solid argument. I think Nintendo has more wiggle room with this thing than people think if the market responds poorly to it. A portable SKU for example. (8 Hours ago)
  • Moonwalker
Moonwalker @droezelke: The complaints he has in that video are mostly valid I'd say, sadly. (8 Hours ago)
