Atari released these images of The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena, which is set to be released on the 24th of April in Europe. A new gameplay video will be up here soon. Update: Added a space walk gameplay video.
Well, it's both. When you buy the game, you get the remake of the first Riddick for free together with the new game 'assault on dark athena'. If that isn't a bargain!!!
That's the beef I have with the pre-release media.
If in fact it's a remake with this new HD Assets Engine they are using to produce the Dark Athena content, why haven't they released some media about Butcher's Bay stuff also?
Id say its probably a touched up version of the original more than a remake unless there's proof its not? I'm happy to be proven wrong here :) If that's the case, I don't think they are concerned about pushing out media for that over athena which is the driving force in this game selling.. Just makes sense, not to say that screens of the original won't come out.. they just haven't shown any yet :)
even if they just polished up butcher bay and it's "only" the original game then people still have 2 buy it if they didn't play the title on xbox.If Dark athena comes anywhere close gameplay and storywise then this is a MUST mustbuy !
Butcher Bay has been totally remade on the new engine.
Its not a touched up version.
They started out on a remake of Butcher Bay with added extras however they added so much that they decided to make Dark Athena a seperate game thus you get two full games both on the same engine.
There is no need to show Butcher Bay as its a bonus.

What early reviews have you in mind?..I havent seen any.
early "reviewers", not reviews.
impressions of people that have copies of the latest build, and already finished Butcher's bay years ago, can have a good ideia of it.

Could you post links to those "reviewers" impressions? Im very curious myself how does the DA compare to EFBB , thanks
I'm not sayin' one is better than the other, but I believe that guy's post history and from all the media I too got the sense it's gona be a only 5-8 hours campaign where we'll be closed in the spaceship.
Loved Butcher's bay, and i'm probably gonna love D.A. but i'm still putting my expectations a little low and eagerly awaiting a HD remake of an excellent game(Butcher's Bay) with a probably great game as a bonus. : D
thx for nfo, I have overheared(in a videopreview/interview) something about additional stuff in the EfBB campaign (weapons methinks), hope DA wont suck as well ;) + they have a couple of additional vidz on their blog http://starbreeze-info.blogspot.com/

It's the main reason why this interests me, not properly Dark Athena.
