Images of Condemned 2

Images of Condemned 2

Sega releases two bunchs of screenshots of Condemned 2: Bloodshot, one showing the Xbox 360 version and the other the PS3 version. As you know if you watched our last Gamersyde Diaries, we can't wait to spend endless nights on this promising sequel.
Update: Five images added.

I love the fact that devs put paintings and posters on walls etc. Makes it prette atmospheric. I played through the first game recently and in the library level I gazed at every single painting, the selection was pretty good!

This game will be crazy. The first one wasn't scary at all for me, but I love that it was one crazy freak show (I'm a huge fan of Clive Barker's Books of Blood) and now the company is even more interesting:)

Is the PS3 version running in some kind of monochrome mode? The lack of colors is disturbing.

But overall its looking better

Yeah. WTF?
The first game was monochromatic when Ethan had visions. It's probably the same here. Still, PS3 version does seem to look a bit worse.

Those don't look like visions. And that character model looks really bad.

Actually they do, the guy does look like some sort of nosferatu whasoever, and you have black areas in the corners (which aren't present in the 360 screens). Although it doesn't seem to have the same grain filter Condemned 1 visions had.

bit of an unfair comparison considering both sets of screens are showing completely unrelated scenes. from the footage i've seen of the 360 version showing the fight in those ps3 shots it was the same. it was just a very dark, bland level.

I'm getting pretty close to preordering this, I need some more good gameplay only videos to really decide. Anyways, I'll at least pick this up over Rainbow Six Vegas 2 now I believe.

ok...360 version is better.
NOW : I WANT THIS GAME !!

So how much longer can the developers hide behind the fact that every multiplatform title that comes out, it will look noticeably better on the 360? Yes it's unfair to compare the screenshots considering that they are not of the same scenery but I think those grainy looking monochromatic images are of gameplay moments and I think the textures and colors can cause us to pass judgement.

This game is just going to be so good

It's just desaturated. Somewhere along the lines and between all the next-gen hype, developers caught on to the trend that desaturation and high-contrast = next-gen.
What it really equals - is gimmick.
The silent hill series has been creating disturbing textures for the games atmosphere for years with little to no post-color correction done. I have a feeling what you're seeing there, in fact I'm almost possitive has nothing to do with the textures themselves and more to do with overall colorizing.

That enemy model from the PS3 screens is just so fugly. Low res blood and character seams are very apparent. Which leads me to believe that those screens are from an older build of the game. If not, Monolith have really fucked up.

Only screen 1 of the ps3 version seems to be a vision. Screen 2 has red edges around it, maybe because ethan got hurt. The rest are withoput any visions or damage HUD.

Whatever the case, it's obvious whoever is taking the captures is displeased...

german gamepro reviewed the final build of the game, said both versions look and run identical except ps3 comes with uncompressed audio. so if the colors seem different here its probably just the level or how it was captured.

cant wait for this game.

I've decided to finally get the game now. Saw some really nice gameplay videos.

There's clearly no AA in the PS3 screens, so they don't look identical.

Lol. Do you honestly pay that much attention to AA during a game? I don't cause I'm focused on killing an enemy most of the time, but that is just me.

You spend more time wandering than you do fighting in Condemned, and the last thing you want when you're trying to build an atomosphere is a wall that seems to have 100 edges, rather than 1.

Its actually looking a lot better than it did before. Dubiously so. I'm thinking they were either showing alpha shots before or have managed to optimize the fear engine further. But seeing as the engine is three years old and has never been optimized for ***** in its life, both options are unlikely.

Oh well, there's always the 10-15fps option they used for Condemned 1, or back to the 128x128 texture option they used for all the FEAR console versions.

But since these are downscaled semi bullshots (what else is new), the texture mip levels and resolutions cant be trusted.

pwn.

And wow, PS3 just got pwned hard by these screens, too. That's just weird, cuz I remember a time when Sony said PS3 games would eclipse anything 360 could do. lol, what a world we live in!

Can't wait for this game!!!!!!!
