Images of Geometry Wars: RE

Bizarre just put up an interview with one of the guys behind Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved, and they also posted three new images of the minigame included in Project Gotham Racing 3. I also six images I hadn't seen before. And no worries, racing-haters - the game is supposed to be available via Xbox Live Arcade too.

Geometry Wars 3? You mean 2? :)

Very nice. I look forward to it!

Slabs:
Of course, sorry about that. Too many numbers.

The eight shot is crazy. So much on the screen at the same time.

It's a game that is part of PGR3 (so you'll need the game) or you can purchase and download it from XBL Arcade. There will be a free demo aswell.

This looks almost better than those Tiger Woods screens you just put up, which is really, really sad.

I have a feeling this will sell copies of PGR3.
I can't wait to play it, personally.

whoa, i just read that interview.
Crazy that this game is using all three cores of the 360.

The games is also available for download... ;-)
That doesnt mean that 1) it runs on 100% usage of all three cores. And 2) that the 360 has 6 simultaneous threads while in the interview it only uses 3 threads (1 in each core) being the grid, audio and particles. It seems to me more a proof of concept. However it looks awesome! Cant wait to see the xbox360 powered to the max on 2nd or 3rd gen games..

I realize this.
I was just pointing at the fact that it may be a deciding factor for some folks.
Best racer ever made + kick ass shooter = bargain.

GriftGFX FFA deathmatch is pretty fun in OW even though it's totally not balanced. Great Tracer practice. (2 Hours ago)

KORNdog The Orville episode 3 was amazing. Very heavy topic but handled it extremely well. (2 Hours ago)

GriftGFX I wasn't really setting up any specific comparison at all. I said modern phones and many PCs. That's pretty vague. You can set whatever limits on that you want. (3 Hours ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX Granted.. synthetic benchmarks are just that.. but in Geekbench 4 a Snapdragon 835 can outperform a Q9550.. which is definitely faster than the E6600. (4 Hours ago)

GriftGFX My personal history of personal computing goes back to 8-bit computers. I think 2017 ARM CPUs are amazing. (4 Hours ago)
  • GriftGFX
GriftGFX @droezelke: I said E6600.. and its single core performance in synthetic benchmarks is certainly comparable. But yes. You can go back to the 80s. I didn't say anything about them being modern. (4 Hours ago)
  • droezelke
droezelke @GriftGFX: no, a snapdragon 835 does not have computing power of a Q6600 (9 years old). Do you really want to go further in time to prove your statement made sense? (4 Hours ago)
